Hi guys, I want to talk with you about some details I noticed in the new version of TSW5. In the new route WCML we have the Class 390 "Pendolino" branded Avanti West Coast, and 30% of this company is owned by the Italian State Railway (Trenitalia), and as you can see on the Class 390 there is a Trenitalia FS group "logo": I think if they added this sort of logo in the game they needed a licence from Trenitalia, and that's mean Dovetail has a Trenitalia licence. But there is more, in the new route Frankfurt-Fulda, the DB Vectron has the SCMT security system in its cab, and SCMT is the main security system on italian railways. If you don't know, in this photo SCMT is marked by the red square. With this information I think maybe Italy it's coming in the game, since DTG made also a new country this year, Netherlands, they maybe are expanding the collection of European countries in the game, and probably Italy its the next new country we will see. I'm excited thinking about the possibility to see my country in the game, and I'm pretty sure maybe the first trains coming will surely the new regional trains like ETR103/104 "Pop" and ETR521 "Rock", for express services they can choice between the famous ETR400 "Frecciarossa 1000" that's is slowly reaching every corner of Europe, or maybe the branded new "InterCity". We have a lot of rolling stock for Intercity services, for carriages we use the UIC-Z and the cab car Z1, for the locos, the most used is the E401, but we also have E464, that is the most common Italian loco, used on regional services and only since few years started its service on intercity trains. For freight trains they can use the Vectron, since Mercitalia (the freight branch of Trenitalia) has in its fleet, and also DB Cargo rides on Italian railways. For the route sincerely I have no idea where the first route can be located. I think two of the lines that can be our first Italian route are Venice to Padua/Verona, since it has a good amount of regional services operated by new regional trains and the only line in Italy that runs on 4 tracks with the high speed line. The other line is Genoa to La Spezia, it's an amazing route running on one of the most beautiful coast in Italy, and the line has an high amount and diversity of services. And you what do you thing about that?
If we are being technical Italy already is in the game. Although, with these, I imagine they're purely an authenticity thing. The Trenitalia name will probably be included under Avanti's license (it's a part of their livery) and the Vectron's SCMT looks to be a non-functional screen, just modelled because the Vectron has it in real life. I'd love to see Italy in-game but I don't think this is anything to read into, sadly.
Railpool Vectron has MIREL modelled as well and it was not an indication of anything. In the Frankfurt stream, Lucas was talking about something (probably the Alstom tilting tech) and muttered something alongside "Wow, we should really do Italy one day", which I read as that they never really thought about it before. If you have suggestions, make them in the Suggestions forum.
The 801’s are made by Hitachi, by your logic DTG should be making a Japanese route as well. I think you’re just reading into it a bit too far.
I agree wishful thinking. but would still be cool to have Frecciarossa 1000 but for sheer scenery would really love Genoa to La Spezia
If DTG made the Vectron without the SCMT system, someone would have complained (rightfully, I think). However, it would be brilliant if these were hints at an Italian DLC. DTG do seem to be flying to so many more countries now. It was only last year we saw DTG branch out to Austria for the first time, and now we have Japan and The Netherlands coming. Who knows? Maybe Italy is next?
I see new planes..... Hype hype "New game mode flight simulator"... Sorry this is bizar and a little silly either
Hey, technically Italy is already in game. In Berninaline, one station, Tirano I believe is its name. Is a few km into Italy. Though not much. It’s better then nothing
They already went down that road. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/live/articles/article/flight-sim-world-closure-announcement
I didnt mean anything like that. But what I mean, they have a sort of Trenitalia logo, yes it's true that it is included in the Avanti West Coast, but I think however, that there must have been some kind of contact or authorisation between the FS group and DTG, since Avanti West Coast is part of the FS Group. Also the fact that now they had the SCMT with a loco that is used in Italy, they have a good ammount of things in order to make an italian route, also if you think in recent times they are doing a lot of routes outside UK, USA and Germany, so why not trying to do something in Italy?
Always nice to see a new country. Would love to see a development team taking on a beautiful country like Sri Lanka, remember taking the train a long time ago and the views were absolutely stunning. Something like Kandy to Ella, although I'd love if a third party with similar standards to JT would take it on to serve the route(s) justice.
Well we will have to wait and see. But sometimes things are modeled because it's on the train irl, not necessarily because licensing is a thing
Milan to Bolzano or Rome to Sicily would be great to see. Rivet are more than capable at handling this task since they did an amazing job with the Bernina line.
If they do Italy, I would like to see the Brenner Pass (this also would help with new-country rolling stock issues, since Austrian assets and ICEs can be included)
Italy (except for the short stretch of the Berina Railway)? I'd love to. Do I believe in it? Somehow not.
Not very sure, but i could swear Matt say that the italian part of the RHB is swiss grounds? Not sure how that works on the roads though
I think he must have meant something else because Tirano and the tracks are in Italy. The only trains running on the line are the ones of the Swiss RhB though
I believe Matt was referring to the fact that part of the RhB runs through the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland
I probably misunderstood, i'm not native english speaking also, the video appears to have been with Jamie and Jasper instead of Matt (force of habbit i guess)
