I really wonder is this route is even worth it, another Geman route, though with older locomotives. The prices are a bit steep for me and I'm still awaiting Peak Forest for more steam locomotives in this game, which is starved of steam locomotives. While the DB 103 is awesome and beautiful, I just don't know if I should invest.

That wholly depends on your interests. From my perspective, yes, it’s absolutely worth it - beautiful setting and vintage electrics. Then again, vintage electrics and vintage German content are exactly my cup of tea.

It's a decent route even though I don't have it myself. Classic and iconic locomotives and scenic route. There are some bugs people have encountered which might put you off. You also get the 628 layered there if you own niddertalbahn.

If you want something that's worth your money, it would be niddertalbahn since it's a route made by tsg and made with a lot of love. Scenery is excellent, the trains are well done. Lots of brand new features not in tsw. Everything is period accurate, etc

Personally I am very happy with my decision to buy this route. Sure, most of the bugs and problems could have been easily spotted and avoided if someone did just one timetable service across the route, but it's still great fun to drive. The 103 feels great imo, there is just about enough diversity in services and scenarios and the scenery (if you can look past the games draw distance... *cough* ini settings *cough*) is truly beautiful.

Still, if you are looking for something different and high quality, I would also recommend you wait for Niddertalbahn.
