Hi experts, I want to know, if building a route in a modular way is possible? Can I extend my route later? Is there a workflow for this? Or do I need to load the full SRTM and LIDAR data into the editor at the beginning? Perhaps DTG Lukas or DTG Matt can give some hints from DTG site?
You can extend as you wish yeah but it'll just be the same map - i.e. if you build A->B and later decide to extend to C, just go in, add the lidar for those bits, lay the track, fix it all up and now you have A->C. What you can't really do is make B->C as a new route and have it then dynamically merged. Consider our Southeastern High Speed route - we build the StPan to Faversham bit and had no idea at the time we were going to build the line to Ashford and Dartford - we came back later and added them, which is what I think you're referring to.
Ok, understood. But let’s say I’m going to build some great fancy main station, how can I use it twice? For example you built Dresden main station and used it for Dresden-Riesa and also for Dresden-Chemnitz. Is there a way of copy and paste?
As your world is uncooked, you got all source data of your map then you can copy and paste tiles which you want and you can use them with new part of the route which will go from the same station but different way.
