Hi guys, sorry for my bad English
I'm back after quite long time on forum asking for a small thing.

I play on a ps4 first version and I notice that on nahverkehr dresden the game really become laggy, not in the cabin or train itself but the environment around me. I don't have the same feelings on older route such MSB or Clinchfield.
I saw a lot of post regarding problem on playstation and especially on this route.

Now I'm asking is it normal on ps4 or is my personal ps4 getting too old/ broking ?

Thanks for your time, good ride!

Considering Dresden gets laggy for me on the PS5 version, I would assume that it's simply the route. No need to worry about your PS4 yet :)

I don't think it is the PS4. I think the development work is easier for the next gen consoles and actual PC's and with that development work needs more ressources. For instance at SPG we had 50 car trains on PS4 and the framerate was ok. At SMH we have 40 car trains on PS4 only and the framerate goes down. On the other side CRR has 40 car trains only too, but the framerate is ok. It seems its not about the hardware of the PS4. It seems more that routes, rolling stock and simugraph datas become bigger and bigger for comparable routes. It seems also that the UE engine upgrade with Rush Hour caused a bigger need for ressources, what brings performance issues.

The key work for DTG is optimization. If not even nextgen consoles will get heavy problems with the becoming bigger and bigger data sizes.

Got the same issues in Nahverkehr Dresden with a PS4 Slim. Using BR101 is even impossible on that route. It's a blue screen before you reach Dresden-Neustadt. On other routes, say Hamburg - Lübeck, she runs like a charm.
What I'm missing in TSW2 are some setting sliders who could downthrottle AI Traffic and Scenery Complexity. Coming from Flight Simulation, I know we had these available there.

I have base PS4. I played all scenarios at DRA. I played services with the 101, the 155, with the dostos to Meißen and so. Never had a crash. My crash route was SMH. After some updates it's relatively stable now.

So the key is optimization, or at least the possibility to downgrade some settings.
I really hope DTG will improve this aspect, or at least don't let the game get worst.
At least is not a problem of my console :)
Thanks for all you replies, have a nice ride!

The Dresden - Riesa route is one of the most hardware-demanding routes in the game. Reason being multiple layers and lots of concurrent traffic. The crowded passenger system of Rush Hour doesn’t help either, especially around Dresden Hbf and Neustadt. The notion that these performance issues affect PS5 as much as they affect PS4 just screams poor optimization.
