Is anyone noticing more stutters and pauses on routes now. I've tried with and without mods and its seems to be happening more than it did on settings that have been buttery smooth up until recent updates.
Most definitely, made even worse when the sound cuts out too, especially at high speed. Also with any ini tweaks may reduce stutters and pauses on one route but terrible on another
Yes, even routes where it never used to be a problem like GWE and NTP usually accompanied by the sound dropouts.
I have also noticed this recently (prob from a few updates ago). Have been discussing this with others and trying to find a cause. I have managed to reduce this via some ini edits and reducing shadow settings but it still apparent. Much like started discussing in the passenger behaviour thread, to me It just seems that core tech stuff is getting worst following each release, but only DTG may know why.
Just a thought and analogy. Is the below the reason tsw3 is potentially closer than we thought. Donkey (ironically the DTG Easter egg) is TSW2 core All the dlc are the bits being loaded onto its back until….. BUCKAROO = Tsw3 when it all gets too much for the donkey
while you’re at it, put free speech, in game adverts, polls and flags on containers. If you’re troubled by moving pics there are newspapers perhaps?
Ive benched tested my PC and its not performing any worst then before so its definitely game related. Its has 100% got worse, I've actually noticed better performance with the train windows closed rather than open (or perhaps it just seems that way as the sound stutters are less noticeable) so I believe it is sound related. And perhaps its just my imagination but it seems to have started around the time the jack hammer sounds on Xbox where fixed. I regularly get major pauses lasting 5 or so seconds where the game completely freezes, this isnt just new routes but older routes as well.
frequent pauses and framerate drops. Usually caused with issues when loading the next ingame tile/area
I use geloxo's .ini tweaks to garbage collection and generally my frames are pretty smooth. I recognise that "pretty smooth" is not an empirical measurement, but I haven't noticed any jarring pauses or freezes on my current run along Cane Creek or any worse performance than usual. I should do a short run and log my frametimes to count the number of jarring spikes. Cheers
i thought you were on about the animated gif in the comment above... the buckaroo one. i turned signatures off not long after a certain poster started using an animated gif of the kid being lifted out of the way of a train, the video of it i've seen many times before over the years, but seeing it every few posts was getting annoying, along with adding half a page of extra to scroll past to get to the next post.
