Thought this might be a handy thread, where requests could be made to see if there are DLC including particular stations or routes. First off, inspiration for starting this comes from this cab view video I just came across, Chester to Manchester Picadilly ("Cheshire Lines Committee"). Is this part of any DLC?
Just found him, reef I like the cab rides where there are subtitles adding more information, and as I progress in my TS learning curve, I can compare my own use of throttle etc to those of real drivers on real routes. I am still trying to perfect braking at stations: think I need to stick with one train for a while to get the hang of it, instead of flitting about, as I tend to slow to a stop too early, and have to open the throttle again to make it into the station, or apply the brakes harder near the end of the platform to avoid overshooting.
That is Chester Station which is on the North Wales Coast route from Crewe to Chester and Llandudno Which is one of the requirements for South Lancs - North Cheshire The route the Northern 150 took from Manchester to Chester does not feature in the route mentioned above apart for the last 5 or so miles in to Chester
I found this guide helpful https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1426074149 In fact I wrote down the MPH Vs Distance figures on a little cheat sheet card that's now stuck to my desk off to one side of my monitor. Obviously you have to take into account the obvious variations i.e. weight, traction, braking characteristics and so on but for me it was a great starting point.
That's not the same route. The route in the video is not available in TS so far as I know. I hope I'm wrong because I'd love that route.
