Is there a way to replace the Awful Double deck Kuju Bus

I asked this question in UKTS days and the best answer seemed to be use a repainted version which made no difference to the shape or features. It is Too Big and has no doors on either side.

I remember downloading other models off UKTS but I had no idea on how to place them in to the game

Those bus models by maxtedrw look suitable for Steam era country routes.

Of course there is. Almost everything can be changed in TS.

You need to find the road traffic blueprint used for a specific route. It has a list of vehicles. Simply replace the bus .bin with another one, or just remove it from the list.

Or - replace the bin in the assets directly. It's likely to be found in Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\vehicles (though other routes can bring a copy of it too in their own asset folder)

    You mean this one?

The Romanian Asset Pack has a huge library of vehicles btw (too huge to fit on one screenshot)

If you want to use maxtedrw's bus, you should copy it along with the Geo and Texture to the Kuju folder and rename it to the original OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.bin - otherwise you would need to activate his asset folder or you'd get the "Fort Kent Black Walls".

You need to change all paths in that .bin to "Kuju\RailSimulator\..." for it to work then.

    Thanks Peter,

I was running a German route and this awful red bus went past on a road.

I have a few Romanian routes and I noticed those coaches which are more suitable to a European route.
I will have a look to see what I have to replace the bus on UK routes.

Realistic road traffic is a great immersion enabler imo. Even openrails with Greater Eastern has excellent road traffic with nice vehicle movement and various haulage firms etc. Something that is missing massively in TSW, at the moment.
I bet AP will put out a road traffic EP at some point.

Is the Romanian asset pack in question from RailStudio?

Yes, I've deliberately left the Object Set Filter flyout open in the screenie :)

I downloaded UKTS_26550_Arriva_and_Stagecoach_Enviro400 which is a good model of a bus that is still in service
    Screenshot (420).png
I changed a line in the OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.bin where the
    But I renamed the Enviro400.GeoPcDx to OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.GeoPcDx
In the Textures folder is a single texture.TgPcDx
In F:\Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\Vehicles\textures there are a number of TgPcDx files
    Screenshot (422).png
Some seem to be related to day and night lighting.
I renamed the texture.TgPcDx to OXFO_PADD_WP32_03_1.TgPcDx and tried the vehicle in the game but its not pickable

I have done something wrong in the sequence but I don't know what?
I think it might be something in the Geofile

The bus does work as a stand alone vehicle

I don't know if this would work, so take it with a grain of salt and of course back up, back up, back up, but if you copy the geo file of the bus you want to use, paste it into the Kuju folder and rename it so that it has the same file name as the original (and rename the original as something else of course) would that work without any need for any more in depth file editing?

You don't need to rename the Geo. Just change Product/Provider paths in the .bin to the new location, Kuju\RailSimulator

Why? unless you've edited the .Geo internally it will still be looking for texture.TgPcDx

I looked at the Geo in TS Tools and I could not see any reference to a texture folder.
That is what I did - I renamed the I renamed the Enviro400.GeoPcDx to OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.GeoPcDx

If I change the Product/Provider paths \PeterKiggins\Models\ to Kuju\RailSimulator how does that find the bus if its still in F:\Railworks\Assets\PeterKiggins\Models\Scenery\Enviro400 Stagecoach?

Because as said above, first you copy the bin, Geo and textures to Kuju\RailSimulator. Then open the bin, adjust the paths, and rename it to Oxfo....

I'll upload that mentioned coach replacement... wait a moment.

Yes, sorry, that's entirely my error, I'd neglected to consider that the texture references would be wrong in this case.

I was trying to come up with a method that would involve the absolute bare minimum amount of editing files. Since you have so kindly uploaded your own modification it's no longer necessary :)

    NOTHING!!!...that's my whole point!
Changing the name of the texture to match the Kuju bus will result in the .Geo not being able to find it.

I just tried copying the texture.TgPcDx to the folder and selecting Vehicle Bus Red produces a Stagecoach bus :)

Thanks Gary and Peter for your help
