The body lines look about right despite the larger rear 1/4 window. Even from the front (sorry no closer image) it kind of has the lines of the 05-14 body style and the hood looks right. And the trunk lip looks right also, minus the spoiler. But the tail lights look more like the 99-04 style.
Wow. I did not know the mustange looked like that! h now I understand the numbers you were saying. I was wondering what 99-04 and 05-14 were but now I know.
The 94-04 actually had a style change during its time in production (99) that changed the tail lights and the side body lines a bit. I have an 02 and it looks closer to the one you posted - as far as the side lines go - which followed it in production. IMO the one you posted (aside from the original 1960s versions) is the nicest body style especially with the lights in the grille. Here's my 02 beater... you can see it is quite a bit different than the 94-04 shown in my previous image.
That is a nice car! I agree, the Mustang used as KITT in 2009 was one of the best body shells in terms of looks. Also your car's taillights look closer to the taillights in TSW than the previous image, but that could just be me.
Thanks, it's mostly a beater car, not in the greatest shape but I love it. It's fun! Yeah my tail lights are closer. That's what I mean, it seems like it's a cross between the two body styles. I did not know they used a Mustang for KITT in recent times. I do remember the original KITT from the 80s though.
Seems to be a cross of 1999-2004 & 2005-2015 models. The easy way to render them in-game is by getting a European Spec ford Mustang 2017 onwards or an imported 1999-2004 & 2005-2015 models in the UK. Sadly the 2017 model fail a Euro Ncap test.
Understandable: They only made like 17 episodes and everybody hated it (apparently). I enjoyed some of the episodes though, and while the new KITT's abilities are amazing, the old one had a bit more character IMO.
That's what happens with remakes a lot of the time. Massive fails and never as good as the originals. Sometimes best to leave well enough alone. IN the last dozen years it's as if no one has an original idea anymore and they keep remaking stuff only to screw it all up.
Back in the 80s I borrowed a friends Mustang and drove it round some local B roads. Then a tractor came came round the corner so I swerved into the ditch and crashed it. Luckily I was fine but sadly the car wasn't. I would have paid for a new one but at the time I just couldn't a ford it.
The rear window looks like a Mustang, but the front looks like.. I don't know, I want to say a Lexus (or Lexi).
Ha thanks! The best (or worse) thing about it is that it is not only a pun but a true story too. Well apart from the fact that I did pay him half towards the repairs but the pun element wouldn't work if I included that!
The car reminds me of the Schafter car model from GTA 5. I would guess it's supposed to be a BMW or a Mercedes, without license the team has to make some creative liberties with car models
