    Hi everybody!

I've noticed while laying track that if I delete a section from the middle of my track, even if it's all straight, most of the time I can't get the track placing tool to turn blue again, to replace the middle section. Is that kind of wonky behaviour normal, or do I have to use one of the other tools for that? If it makes a difference, I've been using two Track Rules, one with the third rail on the left, and the other with it on the right.

My other question: Is it strictly necessary to make separate plugins for my route and subway car, respectively, or just normal practice?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I've seen people having the problem to connect straight pieces of track, too. Luckily, I didn't experience any bigger issue with that yet. Don't know whether this a bug which is occasionally appearing.

Usually, you can't connect two pieces of tracks if the angle is incorrect, surrealistic or - in other words - the tracks can't be connected in this way because the train can't drive on the connection without issues.

What I do in a situation like that is exaggerating in placing the straight for one of the opposite sides towards the other, going down the track then until it snaps (becomes blue) and delete the junction remainders which are automatically generated when you do so.

If that doesn't help, I do the same with the second side.

If that doesn't help (rarely happens, but it did), you need to completely rebuild the straights from both parts with a different angle on each side.

Don't know if this thread also could help you with some screenshots:

So to elaborate on the solution, making the connection further along the track is okay, but you need to switch to Ribbon selection mode (ribbon mode is selected in my screen shot) to delete the undesired off-spur section of the resulting junction. This will leave the straight portion. Trying to do the same thing in Proxy mode will delete the entire junction, which is why we've been having so much trouble, I think.

Yes, doing curves this way and needing to get rid off the junction remainders is a weird and tricky task to do, I know this best as well.

Personally, I don't understand why we don't have the possibility to tick an option which only let us create a junction when we need one. And not everytime we simply want to create a connection between two pieces of track.
