Below, in my second installment of suggestions for locomotive dlc is the Classic Stock for Isle of Wight. CLASS 05 Class 05 05 001 in BR Blue livery at Ryde Pier Head with a brake van. Class 05 cab layout. CLASS 485 & 486 Class 485 in NSE livery with cut down cab 03 079 also in shot. These units were the predecessor to the Class 483 units and came in 2 variants. Class 485 were originally 4 car units 4VEC (later 5 car 5VEC) with Class 486 being 3 car 3TIS (later 2 car 2TIS). Both were of London Underground vintage and were withdrawn/replaced in around 1989. Class 485/486 cab layout.
CLASS 03 Class 03 03 079 in BR Blue livery with sister 03 179 in NSE livery in the background. These were modified for use on Isle of Wight by having their cab roofs lowered to allow running through Ryde tunnel. Otherwise they were standard Class 03s. Class 03 03 179 in NSE livery at Ryde St John's Road depot. Class 03 cab layout.
The class 05 is named Nuclear Fred and now lives on the Island at the steam railway sadly she is not I the best because of br dumbing her up the line around long arch on the steam railway she is now in br green. Both o3 returned to5he mainland and was still in use a couple of years, after they when off the steam railway did by a class 03 D2059 wich they did borrow she still lives at the steam railway being used for shunting and thunder bird Loco and to pull trains.
These can be modified to become the Bakerloo Line Standard Stock trains. Basically BKL will look like a busy subway line with Standard Stock chasing a 1938 stock then a 1972 stock MK I & II
All for this, I remember bouncing down to Shanklin on the old VECTIS stock. Only issue as always will be sourcing sounds for the old stock, even I can't exactly remember what they sounded like. Probably even deeper and melodious electric thrash than the 1938 stock!
But there never was a point in time when Bakerloo would have had Standard, '38 and '72 stock running all at the same time. Standard and '72 were separated by ~25 years and there was only a ~10 year overlap between '38 and '72.
Isle of Wight 2022 was a new route strictly speaking. The original never had a dlc even though there are all of the types above that would be usable on it.
There is a steam railway on the island that's not on tsw3 and matt does say he what every line and thorough out time
In fact, aside from the short Steam Railway that has one end at Smallbrook Junction, there were once various lines across the island with Newport as a kind of central hub. Around 80-85% of the lines were closed altogether.
I'd love the IOW remade and set in the past with all the branch lines and infrastructure intact. A pipe dream, but it would be fun.
I know I live on the island and volunteer on the steam railway, the island had 55 miles of track and at its peak 2 sheds one at Newport and the one at Ryde St John's. Ryde pier head had in use 4 platforms.
