There’s a hovercraft station (is the right word?) on the beach. That’s pretty cool.

Isle of Wight looks to be a beautiful route, as one of the stations literally is on an ocean pier and things such as vines growing on the stone bridges you go under this is definitely going to be a stand out route on TSW2, especially with it being our first route to be released that isn’t done in house by DTG but is being done by 3rd party developer Rivet Games. It should benefit from the shorter length by having more atmosphere and little details.

Looking forward to it. Was sceptical at first, but has some availability for some DLC too like the new Class 484 when they come out, and the previous Class 485.

I tend to forget for TSW2, when a route and locomotive is released it will add a whole new layer to the scenario creator being able to use the locomotive and the route.

Hmm... Do I want it? No! The route I mean. Will I buy it? Yes because Isle of Wight almost changed my life forever. Good or bad way??? We will never find out but it's rather personal reason I will get it and ride it.

That would be quite a push, considering the route's set in the 90s.

They have also stated they made the route from what they surveyed earlier this year in terms of track layout.

Yes I saw that as well. On the latest screenshot, the train is on the eastern track of the pier. The eastern track has now been out of use for quite a few years but it was in use in the 90s. The rest of the track on the Island is pretty much the same now as it was in the 90s so modelling the layout from the present day doesn't really matter.

It isn’t because they are using the plans for what the upgrade will look like when they have finished, so that would include a passing loop at Brading?

I wonder how they are going to price this DLC? It's bad when the DLC cost's more than the game.

Bear in mind that at 24.99 TSW2 was very good value, it could easily have been priced at 39.99 in my opinion and been worth it (well, without quite as many fundamental UX bugs it would have been worth it at that price), so the fact that third party DLC could be the same price or more expensive is, to me at least, understandable if the quality is there. I'll wait to see the price and independent reviews though.

I thought they said that the track plan is based on a visit to the Island a couple of months ago so that wouldn't include the loop at Brading as that's planned for later this year.

I'd think that the standard price for route DLCs would be a little expensive in this case, given that the line has 10 stations at most and a total length of only 13.6 km (or 8.45 miles).

Edit: And there's another point I'm thinking of, the upcoming trophies for this route and the Class 483 EMU. I really hope we won't have to drive it for 483 miles to achieve a trophy ....

I'm going to guess its going to be around 15-20 pounds but that's just speculation.

Did someone check this really long video and can provide timestamps for some interesting scenes?

Trains go past between 20 and 25 mins past each hour on that video in the Pier direction.

It'll probably cost the same as the WSR, which is £19.99.

I think that £14.99 is the most appropriate price for the route, but even that's a rip-off, like all of the other DLCs for TSW.

Nothing is a rip off. You only have to buy what you want to buy. If you don’t believe something is value for money, don’t buy it.

It might only be a short route, but if it’s fun to drive and has lots to do, it’s worth it.

Well said, If you don't like the look of it or think it is bad value for money then don't buy it. Everything I have purchased for TWS 2020, and I have purchased most of it over the last two or three months I have found to be great value for money. Same with TSW 2, great value for money, great games.

That's like saying a boot cover for a Ferrari should cost the same as a Ferrari.

Never should a DLC cost the same or more as the game it's for. If you get three routes for £24.99, but only get one additional route for the same cost, 66% of your £24.99 is going down the drain every time you buy DLC for TSW.

It’s not just because it’s DTG that DLC is expensive; it’s the time and effort that it takes to make the DLC that is the issue. It takes lots of time to research, and then the modelling aspects, then much much more...

So don't buy it if it's waste of money to you. What's the problem here? If it's too expensive then don't buy it or if it's not valuable for you.
    Simple!

Dang well that would certainly be a disappointment, but I’m guessing 48.3 miles is a lot more reasonable.:)

You don’t have to buy DLC though do you? You’ve bought the core game and it came with three routes, but that doesn’t mean DLC has to cost 1/3 of the game price. DTG can charge what it thinks is fair, it’s up to consumers to decide whether they buy it. You are not required to do so.

Give me a break. Polyphony Digital, which is not much bigger than DTG by the way, doubled GTS' car list, with each car taking 6 months to model, excluding research time, without any cost to the end user.
If a Transit van is sold by a used car dealer for £100,000, it's still a rip off whether I buy it or not.

And because everybody's doing the crazy "yOu DoN't NeeD tO bUy It" rhetoric, I'd just like to remind you that I haven't bought TSW2 (mostly because of how broken it is) or played any Train Simulator game in about 4 months, nor do I plan to start playing it again any time soon.

Put whole rant, pushed wrong button, oh well...
    Simply, don't buy it then.

For me it's worth the money and wait
