That braking bug has been around for a long time in TSW. It’s a combination of passengers having the camera motion sway feature enabled and the way AI trains seem to use repeated short bursts of max brake to deal with some speed reductions instead of a smooth approach. I think turning the camera motion off in the settings when travelling as a passenger would stop it spoiling your enjoyment although I haven’t tried it as I almost never travel as a passenger.
