This is a really good feature for me personally, as I don't like it when a few TSW4 trains and all TSW5 trains have the new suspension, but everything else before that does not. So with this setting, everything can luckily stay at the same physics level. I also don't like the bounce on joints since it's a bit too bouncy for me, so this is pretty good. People might've missed this, so I thought I'd inform you all about it.
Think I'll be turning it off, I'm happy with the settings I have for head sway. I watched the 390 on the stream and did not like it one bit, too me it just seemed to bounce up and down, surely it must sway a little to the left and right too IRL?
I saw it in the WCML stream and it’s good news. In Blackpool branches the Class 47 is bouncing almost as much as the 142 for me and it really makes me feel a bit motion sick at times.
Worth mentioning that there is a slider for Camera Sway intensity, so this can be dialled in for a more comfortable ride in the cab. We have an updated settings list here: Train Sim World Settings Explained
Fantastic Chris in the spirit of things is there please any chance the wcl 150/2 sprinter can be fixed would be awesome if DTG could work there magic on it and getting it sounding right
Suspension is affected by multiple factors. It’s down to track quality (track unevenness in game) and the difference types of suspension used on the trains and their speed. Whilst obviously the vast majority of trains these days will have primary & secondary suspension they will behave differently depending on the train, a 380 will be different to a 390 and a 390 will behave differently to a 47 or an F125 for example, and then the faster you go the less likely you’ll feel its affects
If you leave the suspension on but turn sway to minimum would you still get track bumps but not the rocking of the whole train side to side?
That's down to rivet unfortunately and to fix it requires rebuilding it from scratch since sound is also tied to physics which is why it sounds bad
