In the past few years, the Italian high speed has grown to great extent. With Italian high speed trains even reaching Paris. I think it would be a great idea to add the Italian high speed corridor going from Milan (Milano Centrale) - Bologna (Bologna Centrale) with a stop in Reggio Emilia (only certain services stop there. Others just pass through). It is about an hour of travelling. The trains that would be available are the two main trains used on the corridor. The ETR 500, and the ETR 1000 (images below). The routes available would be: Milan - Reggio Emilia - Bologna Bologna - Reggio Emilia - Milan Milan - Bologna Bologna - Milan Reply to this and tell me what you think about the idea. ETR 500: ETR 1000: Stations: Milano Centrale: Reggio Emilia: Bologna Centrale:

Excellent idea overall furthermore why not make Italian high speed trains capable of running 15kv 16.7hz Germany Austria Switzerland that means the ETR610 here. On the German Wikipedia There's the Carbon Strip 1.95m Germany Austria 1.45m Copper Strip AC/DC Switzerland Italy.
I got the high speed train from Bologna to Florence last year and was very impressed with the train. But the route was pretty much 90% in tunnels, is that just that section or is most the high speed lines like that?
