This would be the most challenging route I suggest to build. This intercontinental route connects the main station of Milan with the south-Gotthard region of Switzerland. Due to the channelling landscape to build in the route, it could have different terminal options in Switzerland. From Milano Centrale to Lugano the line is 76,4 km (47,5 miles) long. To Bellinzona it is 100,2 km (62,3 miles) long and to Locarno the line is 111,2 km (69,1 miles) long. To Bellinzona and Locarno the line is 116,5 km (72,4 miles) long. This includes the 15,2 km (9,4 miles) long Ceneri Base Tunnel. The route has the following stations: - Milano Centrale* S Milano Greco Pirelli S Sesto S. Giovanni S Monza S Lissone Muggiò S Desio - Seregno S Camnago-Lentate S Carimate S Cantù-Cermenate S Carimate S Cucciago - Como Camerlata - Como S. Giovanni* # Border Italy - Switzerland # - Chiasso* S Balerna - Mendrisio S Mendrisio S. Martino S Capolago-Riva S. Vitale S Melide - Paradiso - Lugano* 1 St. Antonino 1 Cadenazzo 1 Riazzino 1 Gordola 1 Tenero 1 Minusio 2 Giubiasco 2 Bellinzona* The standard service is made by the RE80 from Milano Centrale to Locarno. Stations with a * are served by the EuroCity trains from Milano Centrale to Zürich. The stations with a 1 or 2 bevor noticed the bifurcation directly north of the Ceneri tunnel. Smaller noticed stations with an S bevor are served by the S11 between Milano and Chiasso and the S10 between Chiasso and Bellinzona. Actually, the S11 starts/ends in Milano Porta Garibaldi, but the detour for the one station is too much and nobody would complain that the S11 goes to Milano Centrale. In Switzerland, the trains drive on a 15kV supply and have ETCS 1 and 2. In Italy, the trains drive on a 3kV supply and the BAcc safety system. The RE80 and S10 are operated by Flirt 2 and Flirt 3 trains in TiLo livery. The EuroCity is operated by the RABe 501 Giruno. The S11 is operated by different types of trains: The TAF, TSR and Carravagio. Please, let your favour know in the comments. The travel times are: - For the RE80 from Milano Centrale to Lugano: 84 minutes - For the RE80 from Milano Centrale to Locarno: 117 minutes - For the EC from Milano Centrale to Bellinzona: 96 minutes - For the S10 from Chiasso to Lugano: 33 minutes - For the S10 from Chiasso to Bellinzona: 49 minutes - For the S11 from Milano (Porta Gardibaldi) to Chiasso: 68 minutes The Ceneri Base Tunnel allows the RABe 501 to accelerate to 230 km/h (143 mph).
Let me guess we have a common ground with each other the Gotthardbahn internal Milano Centrale Bellinzona. Keep in mind you have two Routes south of that the old Summit tunnel and Ceneri Base Tunnel. Furthermore this ends up populating LZN with Rbf Basel Muttenz Mliano Yard freight although they need to be swapped in Chiasso
