Incredibly difficult almost impossible to start

Make sure Brake pipe is over 75 before starting
Use Notch 3 - creep along at tops 0.6 mph until you reach tunnel - could be over 1 mph at this point

I was at 17 mph by second tunnel. Go to Notch 4 just after exiting 1st tunnel and go from there

Best bet is to roll backwards to the red signal behind you at the bottom of the yard. Gradient is less. Build throttle (notch 3) until amps are around 850, while holding the loco on the independent brake. release the independent brake, and gradually increase the throttle keeping it under 850 amps.

By the time you get to the start point you will be around 11 mph.

Tried rolling back but the gradient was about the same as far as you could go without tripping the red with the caboose
Tried and Tried - finally watched video on the PC forum - followed his method of getting to the 0.6 mph - but his blipping the throttle between 3 and 4 for fractions of a section is VERY difficult using the Xbox controller - one wrong move and you are back at zero - rolling down the hill
Make Sure you save your game once you achieve the 0.6moh speed - especially if you are going to try the throttle routine.

Anyway it worked - once I got to speed it was a totally routine run - finished with 4625 and the gold medal.

I tried quickly throttling up and back down on the PS4 controller to try and get some extra power without going over the slipping point (I was trying to get over 0.6 mph as I had no trouble getting that far) and kept giving it just a bit too much and the power got cut, and then it’s full brake on and start again. I think the sander is bugged because it gives no extra grip at all. It really should be giving a little help but it doesn’t do anything. I just gave up in the end and started the service in timetable mode with better weather. I’ll get round to trying it again but I just didn’t want to drive that far that slowly today.
