Driving 6M04 JT scenario that comes with Notts/Linc MML extension, coal train to Ratcliffe power station, you are supposed to go through the Unloader to discharge the HTA's, nothing appears to happen & there is no instructions as to what is meant to happen if anything? Is something supposed to happen or is it just a token gesture driving though?
You're supposed to unload the cars. It's just not implemented in the driver instructions and left up to you to fulfill your job. [".. before working through to Toton with the empty wagons."] The scenario author may have had no intention to create dozens of "Unload" instructions, I think telling the player is enough. We're reliable railroaders and don't need a computer to supervise every move do we? I'm glad JT don't do silly scoring career scenarios. What a stunning route that is. Love JT.
I agree. I think it's a bit poor that you are left guessing what to do, with no mention in the manual. From the instructions in another JT route, East Midlands Coal, I think you are meant to position the wagons over the unloading chutes about 4 at a time and then press shift-T to actually unload them. This works quite well on the East Midlands Coal route, but I can't get it to work on this route at Ratcliffe. I have tried shunting the wagons back and forth, inch by inch and pressing shift-T until blue in the face and the best I can do is unload about 4 or 5 random wagons in the whole train. In the end I give up and take most of the coal on to Toton! Life's too short.
East Midlands Coal is by Creative Rail. JT had no part in its development. I own neither route so I can't comment specifically on the issue, but there is no guarantee that keybinds on one route will work for another.
With all scenarios that have a load or unload requirement you must stop the train for each wagon to activate the T key. You cannot replicate the real world slow moving load/unload and the wagon must be over/under the discharge/loading point. The easiest way to see this is to use the 8 key and move your vision to the load/unload point.
