I'd imagine it might just be because this coming Tuesday is quite early in the month? New instalment announcement is usually done in the DD around August time.
This is not the first roadmap which has been delayed and it wont be the last one. The last 2 or 3 roadmaps were all released in the first week of the month which already was suprising given the amount of delays the ones before had. It could also be because they wait for some 3rd partys to send them updates on theyre projects. Imo its a bit early to speculate about a summer direct stream announcement, altough i understand why Tsw 6 is likely a thing this year. The July roadmap probably will be the one revealing said information, while the june RM probably teases us with 1 unannounced dlc or smth like that. Still we dont know if Tsw 6 is a thing. But thats not to discuss here.
As I only joined TSW5 when it offered the free starter pack it's shame that a "newer" version may be released soon. I've invested a fair few quid in DLC's since, I know that's nowhere near what many have, but wouldn't it be better to correct the issues with the current version before moving on. This is the reason that pushed me away from FS. I worry that PS5 won't cope with upcoming software. Shame, because up till now , I've enjoyed the ride ..
apparently the santa fe gameplay pack will only come in TSW6 I was looking forward to the june roadmap announcing a release date for it
Another year, another big reveal. I really hope it’s not a TSW6 reveal, but who am I kidding. Smart man only betting a quid, as you’ll probably lose that bet
TSW 6 won't be announced in a roadmap. It will be announced in a DTG Direct most likely in August. The most we will get it like below from last years July Roadmap but again that wasn't until July. The June roadmap was dead. July 2024 And here was June last year. So I expect it to be quiet until August.
Never has a roadmap ever announced a new TSW iteration, it was always a DTD, and those so far only happened in August, and definetly always will be on Augusts. From what I heard, the delay comes from the 3rd parties and their projects and what new information will be included and what not. Could the screenshots not be any larger?
I would think that the delay in the roadmap will be that DTG may know more news to announce, like release dates etc., by delaying it a week. Don’t forget we get Cargo Line 4 releasing next Thursday June 5th. So l think the next Roadmap will be Tuesday June 10th.
I don't know why some people are getting worked up about the roadmap being later in the month? I don't think it'll change any release dates that have probably been set internally? Doesn't bother me in the least. To be honest I hope we don't get TSW6 this year, I'd much rather progress be made to improving the current issues in the game before they plague any other future title of the game. Or delay it until sufficient progress has been made to the core issues.
sorry to disappoint you, but even though I share your opinion, we will have a tsw6 this year and a tsw7 next year and so on... and the bugs? increasing and increasing more and more...
l echo that sentiment SO95. I too hope they delay TSW6 until TSW5 is running smoothly with no issues. The continual release of a new game is so annoying, as it just compounds the problems we already have and in some of the previous yearly editions they have made it worse. I am not suggesting DTG shouldn’t release a route package similar in cost and content of a new game, but let’s please keep it in TSW5. That way we don’t have to continually re-install all our previously bought content, which can be an absolute nightmare for those on a slow internet connection! DTG please keep on working to make TSW5 the best there is.
Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I think they need to go to a quarterly roadmap and only talk about and divulge about DLC coming in the next 3 months especially when it comes to 3rd party DLC. Regardless of the whys and wherefores about 3rd party DLC being delayed/dropped entirely, the end result is that now every announcement I take with a pinch of salt and stop myself from getting excited about it, because (without doing any maths) I'd say about 20-25% of announcements never seem to come to fruitarian. Id then like to see the monthly roadmaps replaced with a monthly Dev deep deleve/QA session about general improvements/bug and other topics aside from new releases.
Me either, I honestly will forget it about after logging off. I have too many games that I’m focused on right now to give a damn. Improve the core issues, fat chance of that happening, all they’ll do is add further strain to the game by adding more pointless features/gimmicks. Remember how stable TSW3 was before we had the likes of conductor mode, formation designer etc. When it was just about driving trains, there was less problems.
Conductor Mode, l have forgotten about that. It was a gimmick, l never remember to play now. Thank you DY, for the reminder!!!
I would prefer if they did articles for different content throughout the month rather than a roadmap just to spread things out more.
I still remember the time it was every other week. For some time it was much more interesting than the currently once a month format, until new updates slowed down and people asked for it to be done once a month, but back then 3 people were talking on the stream (Sam, Matt, Adam) and they really added much to what was in the text of the roadmap's article. At the present watching the stream doesn't give much more than you can read in the article. Roadmap could be done just simply as an article and a Q&A thread - much faster to read that than watch 1.5 hour stream, which reveals nothing more than you already had read some 2 hours earlier.
I miss Sam, he always came across as on the community side and asked the difficult questions the community wanted answering and as a result the steams came across as unscripted and more raw. These days the community team (whilst fab in many other ways) seem more professional, polished, scripted and toeing the company line rather than the grilling Sam often gave Matt.
To be brutally honest the last couple of Roadmaps were fairly bland anyway. There probably isn't much to say as any internal efforts are directed towards TSW6 or whatever is happening in September. The JT Class 86 seems to have stalled despite getting its release article. We know that the Class 104 and Tadami will just be kicked down the road for another month. The DB420, well I suspect even if near ready they may postpone it pending core and route stability fixes for FSN. The E94 etc. pack, well suspect that is still some way off. Tend to agree with Redrev above, it needs to go quarterly with otherwise just title specific announcements in the meantime.
Well said. I too miss Sam. He was a wonderful ambassador and always so interesting to listen too.The sound of his voice is sadly missed on the streams these days, as was his honest view points. Get him back DTG? As Captain Failure, Sam does some Transport Fever 2,videos these days but l haven’t seen any TSW videos from him recently, was there a fallout?
Me too. No word of a lie I’ve probably only ever played that mode about 5x in my whole life, and 3x was on the Glossop Line scenario. I’d rather be in the driving seat rather than navigating the corridors looking for passengers. Also did Sam leave DTG?
The June 2025 roadmap will most likely release Week 2 rather then next week.. It always used to release on the second week. Even though others have said it already, on the 95% chance that TSW6 is announced, it won't happen until the 2025 Dovetail Direct in late August
It's looking like there might be a big announcement coming if the road map is delayed but that could just be ps5 and Epic Games get the Köln-Aachen timetable finally getting a date for release or optimisation might be something partly sorted definitely not tsw6 that will come from a Dovetail Direct wich could get announcement. The delay on the road map might even be down to dtg staff illness.
Just to have a different look at a possible Tsw 6 after some here expect it to happen. Besides the rather inappropriate announcement of a new game while the current one is in the state it is, i think a new one could also be a chance for DTG. The current updates Matt P gives us on theyre attempt to make improvements for memory usage, especially on console, seems to be making good progress. The thing i want to get to is that a new game gives them a build to play around with while it will also make profit at one point. Changes, especially for console, could be better implemented in this new build as they can test it without any risk of breaking Tsw 5 even more. Of course all this is based on the assumption that Tsw 6 will have a free version again, so those changes wont be locked behind a paywall. Besides they maybe try to take a look at smaller routes that arent based in big urban citys like Frankfurt, which is probably one of the largest in trackmileage within the city, besides Berlin or Munich. The detail they brought up with Frankfurt Sbahn raises hope for future routes being on the same level of detail. In my opinion its nonsense to look at future projects with the idea of them being bad. If you go in with low expectations then you will still be dissapointed if its as bad as expected, but if you go in with some hope and it comes out to be good then you are even happier about it.
