Just started playing london commuter again after 2 weeks. Noticed that the layers havent loaded in to the route. I fully quite the game. And tried again, same. Restart xbox series x. Same. I have all my dlc installed still. But no layers are working on this route. Strange.
For me, the extra layers on London Commuter have never loaded for me if I start the route straight away after starting TSW 2. I normally start a random service on another route (which is related to the layers such as Southeastern Highspeed for the 465, or West Somerset with the Class 09 etc). Only after quitting back to the main menu and starting London Commuter do the extra layers appear, it's odd but the only workaround.
I have exprerienced this problem every time after starting the game since last summers Rush Hour update
It only happened to me. Not played for 2 weeks as been ill. But yesterday and today noticed it on my uk routes. No layers
As usual you need to go back to main menu and start the service again. Do not close the game or restart the xbox. We really do need an "known issues and workarounds" section in the forums...
Layers have been glitchy like this for me in some routes since the updates to stuff like TVL recently. I solve it by always loading into a layered service, backing out to the menu when I spawn with no train, and then the next service I load for the route, regardless of what it is, the layers will all be there.
Pardon my ignorance, but what are layers? I've heard the terminology a lot and can't seem to decipher what it means from posts and replies.
It refers to when there are multiple additional services on a timetable which only show up if you own the other route or loco DLC which contains the rolling stock for those services. So for example, if you own London Commuter and also own GWE and SEHS, certain DMU/EMUs from those two will also appear as AI or driveable services.
The criteria for this to happen is that you must own either Xbox series X Disk Drive or Xbox series s the digital only version. Since these have the power to run PC Timetable with layers.
The qualifiers about the disc or digital versions are redundant since the Series X ONLY comes with an optical drive and the Series S without, and the presence or absence of such a drive does not change the functioning of layers, they'd work the same on any Series X or Series S hardware revision, like a hypothetical "Series X slim".
