What's Wrong with just getting in a train and just drive, that's what I like about the Pacer You can just get in a drive. Not mess about faults and pressing this and that.
I think he's referring to the many extra switches, safeties and "safety systems" that are involved in modern MUs. I agree. Older models like the Pacer are just a lot simpler.
But safety systems don't have to be on (unless of course the route is LIRR). All that needs to be done is master key in, reverser to forwards and use the throttle/brake to slow up and down.
Are we really complaining about there being too many buttons and switches, you don't even have to use? Jesus...
It's not complaining.... it's a preference. They said they like simpler trains. Nothing more. Didn't criticize others, or say they shouldn't exist... it's like saying "I like British trains." Doesn't mean German or US trains are LOVE or that they should be banned... it's SIMPLY a personal preference. Not sure why people are so quick to attack someone for having an opinion on which train they drive. It was a tongue in cheek jest. Relax folks.... opinions are still legal for now.
Well just don't forget what happens before you enter & activate the cab starting from outside. In this way you should be liking the electrostars more, since they don't require a guard panel.
