I was on a trip as passenger from preston to blackpool..lol (pacer was a little crowded), well on the station poulton le fylde there was a poster visible through glass, clearly a BR class 50: - is it a common tsw poster and doesnt mean anything? - Could it be a JT loco DLC in production (really hope so)?
I really hope this is a hint! I haven't seen it elsewhere, and have had a walk about a couple of BPO stations, never seen it on other routes before either.
I hope this is a hint, the class 50 is my favourite British train. If it is coming, I think it would have to be on a new route, as I don't think there's any routes it operates in the game currently, but I could be wrong.
West Cornwall could be a possibility as I guess it’s no more fantastical than the Class 40 layering in. Or Diesel Legends on GWE.
There was a leak of a Class 50 for TSW several years ago that didn't go anywhere - it could be a revival of that project.
If it was a teaser IMO I imagine the focus would be to put it on the Blackpool route, if the 50 doesn’t fit as appropriate stock on that route, then it would reduce in chance as a possible leak IMO. in all honesty I don’t think it’s a leak, far too many posters about in TSW, they are not reliable as leaks. Personally I think JT may have ideas for another TSW dlc but I don’t think they are finalised IMO (just a thought)
We can but dream… Would love it to come along with Salisbury to Exeter, or a pre 1974 north of Preston section of the WCML!
A class 50 is sorely needed in TSW, but its needed for the right route. Like WCL or GWE. But don't forget that Just Trains not only made routes for TSC ( and now TSW) but they made locos as well l, so perhaps a class 50 could be modelled. We need most of the 5X class of locos. 50's, 55's, 56's, 57's, 58's, 59's and dare I say it..... a 60 as well. Hentis
It does look certainly like an ingame render, rather than a picture. Is that blackpool tower in the background ?
Assuming Blackpool Branches has been the sales success it deserves to be I would love for JT to release one or two loco add-ons for the line, although by 1986 the Class 50s were pretty much concentrated on Network SouthEast. Of course an NSE route with a Class 50 that also came in BR Blue for running up North would be fantastic, but for now I would be more than happy to throw more money JTs way for any add-ons for Blackpool Branches.
For Blackpool branches specifically, as already suggested, a Class 104 DMU would complement perfectly, far more common sight in the area than the 101's. And while the era is a little late, a Class 25 would go down a treat too.
The Class 50 is a great machine, wanna in my collection without hesitation, but I don't think Blackpool will be great for her. Maybe one of the routes, but definitely not a primary.
We can only hope it has sold well, the BR blue doesn't sell should be a saying of the past. Plenty of good feedback I have seen and another similar route would be welcome. The modern day EMU fans monopoly can end. This route shows what can be done in TSW and NTP and TVL could have been more like this. A network with stuff going on and effort put into how it's presented and operated. The shunts at Blackpool are great and like the traffic at Preston stand out. A 50 could be a great DLC but only works really for the South and South West in the 80s and 90s or in the 70s North West England to Glasgow. Maybe my Crewe to Preston suggestion has been acted on.....
The way dtg made ntp and tvl, which are rather old dlcs, their fire and forget didnt sell good. Well there was the nice heavy freight, but there would have been tons of opportunities to make more out of the routes. (A.i services, new timetable, path extension to healhly mills yard (ntp). But no, they did like usual. Nothing!, and want to point their minimalism to the customers and say its their fault..tzzz
Probably the modern stuff is selling well (or better), still a br route would sell good the way just trains approached with Pbl.
If modern routes had a similar effort they would be a lot more engaging. The way JT approached this DLC was spot on.
I’ve stayed away from this game since Mainz Koblenz but a 50 DLC from JT would probably be enough to make me buy into TSW4
Well i hope its coming with a proper route too, not just a dlc like diesel legends. This would be wasted.
They were built as express locos yes, but on the West of England Main Line the services they ran were more stop-start
3rd parties are probably more likely to develop dlc for their own routes, the same way DTG probably is less likely to develop dlc for 3rd Party content it’s not a closed door but I think chance swings more in the own route favour.
I think it's possible as class 50's did visit Blackpool but it was a decade earlier in the 70's when they worked on the WCML before it was electrified from Crewe to Glasgow they transferred to the western region.
