Just Trains have just released their extension to the DTG Southampton-Bournemouth route. This from their website: "This Wessex Main Line: Southampton to Salisbury route extends Dovetail Games’ South Western Main Line: Southampton – Bournemouth Route Add-on to Salisbury, extending the original route by around 36 miles. The Dovetail Games route is required for this extension to operate." Some interesting scenarios if you have the DLC. If it's like their MML route and extensions, it should be good.
Does anyone have this and do you have missing assets? I have quite a lot missing despite having all the requirements.
anyone else having problems with this route? I am sometimes having video display problems when looking forward and straight ahead through the cab window. (doesnt seem to happen with the default scenarios though)
Cashing in before they turn their backs on us, why does the letter W followed by plural ship stoppers spring to mind?
On a TSC stream a couple of weeks ago, the guy from JT said: "I never use this game anymore". So there you go.
Can't believe the flight sim third party companies started making products for FS2020 and turned their backs on us FS2004 guys
if there’s improvements to the 165/166 I’m guessing it would be revised textures, physics? All I know is the sounds, and that thing are terrible
I re-installed the route but all of the missing assets are pertaining to the Southampton section of the route. not only are there bridge assets missing but support frames and poles for signs etc along with canopies and platforms plus E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Lights\Striplight-grey-point.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000055-000036.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Lights\Striplight-grey-spot.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000055-000036.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Stations\Redbridge No Footbridge.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000060-000037.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Stations\redbridge_mesh_fence.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000060-000037.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Stations\redbridge_steps_middle.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000060-000037.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Stations\redbridge_support_post.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000060-000037.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Stations\SouthamptonNoPlatforms.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000057-000038.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp2_wood01.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000082-000019.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp2_wood02.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000082-000021.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp3_wood01.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000051-000029.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp3_wood02.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000051-000033.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp4_wood01.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000070-000022.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vegetation\tree_grp4_wood02.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000069-000022.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vehicles\carpark_00_2x1_no_night.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000051-000031.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vehicles\carpark_00_2x2_no_night.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000051-000031.bin E:\Railworks\Assets\DTG\SouthamptonSalisburyJT\Scenery\Vehicles\carpark_00_4x4_no_night.bin (Scenery Item) on tile -000053-000032.bin.
As a Quick Driver who runs a lot of Great Western diagrams it is just good to have a 166 with proper functionality and improved physics in the game. I've never been in a 166 cab so can't comment on the sounds but they work OK for me. No doubt some of the community will have a different view point given their devotion to AP purity and aversion to all things Kuju but I actually enjoy driving it in my humble unsophisticated state of blissful ignorance. Result.
It's all described here. Interestingly JT leave the TSC scene with reworking the first ever DMU featured in RailSimulator ChiefJackYT Thanks for that brilliant update, it's a whole new experience now driving the 166. Good sounds, handling, correct notches (no more -30% for Release) - and the brakes are working correctly now, the Kuju 166 had almost no braking power at low speeds.
Lovely route/extension. Has a lot of potential for different kind if services. Really great the original route and the class 166/165 have been updated to. They guy who developed this route has done a great jobb and i wish i could support him (and other developers) beyond buying the Product. Hope JT wil continue developing routes for tsc. They are really good at it. Hope enough people continue buying stuff for tsc to make development interesting enough. It is the only trainsim for me, and offers a lot more than others in my opinion.
Indeed. I hope JT will think twice, especially considering the terrible state TSW is in, constantly breaking compatibility, a myriad of unfixed bugs and ever new issues, and a highly frustrated community over there.
I hope JT will continue in TSC as well, but the developers have said on their Train Sim TV channel that they will be developing in TSW going forward and that TSC doesn’t pay anymore. That’s sad. Given the current state of TSW, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if TSC lasts longer. This is a wonderful DLC in my opinion. When I compare it to what you get with DTGs latest offering it makes me wonder why I bother with TSW at all.
TSC will outlive TSW. Because internally, TSW is a huge mess and needs a reboot which will render all content incompatible inevitably. And, it's the most closed-off sim there is on the market, each 3rd party addon must either be published by DTG or as freeware. Which slows down its growth, in TS's seventh year we already had a universe of available content. The TSW discussions all circle around the same few routes. Anyway, let's not discuss TroubleShootingWorld, I'm thankful for everything JT have done over those years.
As I stated above I had re-run the installer and all those assets and more are missing. Is anyone else seeing missing assets at Redhill and Southampton central?
I'm not having any issue. Not seen a single milk bottle. Sitting in Southampton Central as I type and can't see anything missing. Also went to the folder mentioned in your earlier post and unzipped the .AP file and everything you listed was there.
All there for me. Have you cleared the cache, as files are added to the DTG assets and blueprints.pak need to be updated?
could not agree more with all the posts on this thread today... glad I´m not only one feeling this way. I was a little down today, when one of the TSW boys lashed out at me on the German forums and said: "no one cares about your amateur projects in TSC". The community seems very toxic at this point.
Indeed. Be sure that tosser has no idea of who cares for what. TSW community is extremely toxic, yes. I know where my home is, it's TSC
For clarification, Train Sim TV is NOT JT's channel the channel is owned and run by Tom Harrison and Mark Walker (who both happen to be JT developers) but this channel is not JT run, owned or subsidised, if Tom was doing an official JT stream he'd do so on JT's official Twitch & YouTube channels.
Just went into the route editor, and all the boxes are ticked but in the asset drop-down list Redhill station isn't there only the station that comes with the Southampton Bournemouth route and that doesn't fit. Has the JT common library been updated?
I think you are confusing Redhill on the Brighton Mainline and Redbridge which is the Junction for Bournemouth or Salisbury.
martschuffing Please post screenshots. And yes, the Wessex line contains an updated version of the CommonLibrary as loose files. I have merged these with my existing CommonLibraryAssets.ap, by unpacking the latter, then copying the new files, choosing Yes to Overwrite. You can then either leave the folder as it is or repack it for faster loading again.
I really hope that is not true, it seems classic development is really slowing down. Been forever since ats released anything as well.
I can't see them abandoning the Midland Main Line completely. But yes, I expect much of their future work will be TSW.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3149126680 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3149126260 As you can see the station in its entirety is missing at Redbridge and lots of assets missing from Southampton Central including the adjacent road bridge.
It seems your installation is messed up. If you can't fix it yourself, you must do a full verification via Steam, then reinstall the Wessex route.
martschuffing I would be tempted to Delete the DTG Southampton - Bournemouth Route by going to the folder 00000090-0000-0000-0000-000000002019 and deleting the *.ap file in that folder Then reacquire it thru Steam and see if it works as a stand alone route. If that works go to Just Trains and download the latest version of the Southampton - Salisbury route.and install that. It might have had some problems Peter
I bought the route and can only use the default scenarios as I don't have any of the payware loco's or enhancement packs. I honestly wish there was an easy way of swapping out the missing dependencies for default stock, seeing as there's nearly double the amount of scenarios using the payware as there is using the default stock. It would cost well over £100 to complete the additional collection of payware. That said, the route is very nice and well detailed. I am seeing quite heavy frame rate drops in places, but overall it's a good effort. I was especially happy to see this one come out as I live only a 10 minute walk from Eastleigh station so it's nice to see a route finally here with the station included. EDIT: Just realised I completely misunderstood the question. No, no missing assets along the route for me, at least that I've noticed. Everything looks complete and in place for me and the only bit I've not ventured into yet is the Eastleigh yard behind the old works.
There is. Two different programs - TS Tools or Locoswap Both do the same job in letting you swap something you don't have for something you do. You have to decide what you swap in the program Locoswap might be the easiest one to use if you have not done anything like this before. https://github.com/flicard/LocoSwap/releases/tag/v1.6.1.0
You absolute legend. I had no idea these tools existed. Thank you very much!! The editor in TSC itself is incredibly confusing. I've loaded it up and can't figure out how to do anything in it so I gave up trying to manually edit the scenarios. Edit: I've downloaded both, but Locoswap definitely seems the most intuitive, as you suggested. I think I've managed to swap out the dependencies in some of the scenarios, so I'll be looking forward to giving them a go!
I think I will give that a go Peter. Although to be fair Redbridge is a new model, not the one used in Southampton Bournemouth.
Once you have done some manual changes in Train Simulator its quite easy I quite often change the loco on a service to something else that I prefer to drive. This video is very helpful in explaining how to do it in the game These tutorials are quite old - almost 10 years but nothing has changed very much.
It's OK found it, there is a Salisbury JT folder in the DTG assets folder it was packed up in there. I didn't realise that there were folders hither and thither for it!
Redbridge and Southampton Central use the DTG models as a base, with certain bits noded off with a script, with new assets placed on top. These parts need to be in the DTG folder so that they can reference the original GeoPcDx model files in the DTG/SouthamptonBournemouth folder.
Friend of mine has this route as i dont have it yet. He is having problems with the scenarios. Waiting for him to get back to me but apparantly a scenario he tried non of the AI was moving and was all static then got an Error due to an AI leaving its path ????
