Would really like Just Trains to expand on the magnificent playground they have just given us, so shopping/wishlist follows: Class 86 electric (though we are fairly certain this is the add on in the works). Mark III sleeping cars - for more authentic night train formations. Mark II D/E/F aircon coaching stock. These formed most of the day trains on the route, other than the principal Euston expresses and were more likely to appear in overnight train formations (along with earlier Mark 2’s) than Mark 3’s. Suitable Mark 1 catering vehicle(s) RBR or RMB to go in the Mark 2 formations. Class 108 DMU - these were far more common on the North Lancs and Cumbrian secondary routes than the Class 101. Class 25. Pushing the era a bit but many are clamouring for a “Rat” in the game. Route wise: Finish off the Windermere branch. Finish off the Heysham branch. Add the Cumbrian Coast around to Workington. I know some or even all of the above may not be practical particularly the route elements, but you have given us a magnificent model railway to play with here and would be a shame if it fell into the DTG fire and forget paradigm. Also the locos and rolling stock mentioned have potential for use or reuse on other projects too.
As they have all ready got Carlisle and Preston modelled I would have thought Cambrian coast would be a logical route on a cost basis and I do not think its been done in full before, it has a good selection of freight and passenger services in the time period, seems to me to tick a lot of boxes.
Still haven't bought or played JT Over Shap yet for financial reasons but I still agree with OldVern and the suggestions he made. Can't wait to get play as Blackpool Branches was so awesome and I'm positive this will be the same.
That would be hellfire, and rats would be logical as one of the last two places they were allocated in 1986 was Kingmoor.
I found it odd that they decided to include the sleeper diagrams but not include the Mk3 Sleepers or was it that JT didn't see it worth the effort to model them if they only appeared in the timetable a couple of times?
Over Shap is amazing! I love watching the trains go by at Lancaster and there are so many fast travel spots that you can teleport to so you could even watch the trains go by as if you are a Perminant Way worker
There's a few things in it I've found which need fixing, but otherwise, what an amazing route. Was happy to pay full price for it, especially as I hadn't bought any other DLC for a while. It will be worth it when you eventually do get it.
My first full price TSW content in like 2 years also. Developers like these need our full support. Nice and fully developed route, that's how it should be with every route. And still quite some possibilities for extensions, and rolling stock as well.
Another addition I would like to see but sadly will never happen would be the APT (Both the APT-P and APT-S/APT-U)
This route is the perfect route for the APT and I'm slighty sad that the loco DLC won't be the APT.. also due the APT-P being declared a failure in 1986, the APT-S and -U never ended up being made
Well that was quick! Forgot I’d posted this the other day and JT already come good on three out of the six items. Top developer
