PS5 updates were there at about 12:00 your time, but failed to appear as timetable changes after install. Restarting PS5 ( never had to take this step in the past ... ) Even 193 showed no timetable option for Köln-Aachen. Timetable showed only Original and New Journeys. But the updates show the core game as having just updated. Was something not pushed out to Sony for PS5 ? A lot of updates to show no changes after game launched ... P.S. Restart of PS5 has had no effect. Updates: core as 01.038.000 Add-Ons: 14 listed as updated, but the list does not include Köln-Aachen. Have we ever had this kind of partial update before ? Is it intended ? P.P.S. [ i have tried to fix my typos and inconsistencies in the Steam PC list below. May 4, 2025 ] Steam: from watching 50 minute Steam update, a complete route is being pushed as penultimate item; AND timetable has Köln-Aachen Revamp ! AND Flix 193has the route as does DB Vectron And RailPool 193 ! Yay!! Looks OK at a glance ! The timetable shows 24 locomotive types available on this full EU TSW install: Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen BR 423 DBKS has a 24-hour timetable " " " KAH BR 442 Talent 2 DB has a 18-hour schedule BR 193 DB and RailPool show a 24-hour timetable on Köln-Aachen; Flix has 10, BR 218 shows 1 service BR 101 classic has 4 services BR 103 has a "Heritage Tour" BR110 DB / BR 110 DB from 2 routes runs a 24-hour schedule BR 111 DB has 7 services BR 112.1 DB has 8 services BR 114 DB DB has 7 services BR 642 DB has a 24-hour schedule BR143 DB from 3 routes runs one task which is a broken scenario on my PC Steam install BR 146.2 DB from 4 routes has a 24-hr schedule BR182 has 3 types from 3 routes with 24-hr schedule BR185 RailPool from Tharandter Rampe has a 24-hr schedule BR 185.2 DB from 4 routes has a 24-hr schedule BR 185.5 MRCE from 2 routes has a 24-hr schedule BR187 DB from Schnellfahrstrecke K-A route has a 24-hour timetable BR 155 ditto BR 425 ditto but 01:36 depot run is duplicated at end of timetable BR 406 has 8 services BR 401 has 9 services and 6 for 363 and G6 shunter not seen: BR 204, 110, 403, 422. Maybe BR204 is Ai or stabled ? Hope that covers everything. My Expert 101 are Xbox and PS5 only. Flix 193 only has 2 full runs, as others are run arounds. Hopefully users add 218 services. And one day, BR 120, right ? Apologies if i missed some of my myriad typos. Epic games has an update running ( crawling, actually ) now ... about 45 minutes left to go ... but finishes with same partial result as PS5. PS5 has no additional update pending... yet ... Xbox i will check now ... and it now shows an update as pending ... but only 4 items: core, Fulda, Milton Keynes and Kassel ... last 3 as full route updates it seems ... will update as my other 3 platforms have these updates completed ... But, PS5 just got an update of core to 01.039.000 so, not so simple ...
I tried the new timetable mode right away. I took the BR425, and there are two trains starting at 0:59 at Koln station. I did both, but the game does not end after arriving at the final destination. S12 Blankenberg to Koln-Ehrenfeld It is unnatural for two trains to run at the same time in the first place. It is impossible. Please check before release. Repeated play time is wasted. If I play either of the trains that are the same as the previous timetable mode, will it count? Is this a method to make the total number of trains look larger? The T button does not display the service name, so I hope they will solve the overall bug first. The counter is still broken. Please forgive any inappropriate expressions as I am using a translation software.
Hello DTG In today's update you write that 28 new goods trains have been added to the timetable update for Cologne - Aachen to work with relevant add-ons. Are these really freight wagons that we didn't have in TSW5 before ? And if so, could these freight wagons also be added to the timetable for other German routes?
No available for PS5 (consoles and Epic will be available at a later date) only been released for steam today as the article and several posts have highlighted
Ran service EZ44524 using a BR 185.5 from N - D and noted, when finished, I did not get credit for safety system use even though they were on. This prevented me from getting platinum. Otherwise, the new tt seems to be running without issue considering all the new services. My fps stayed at my limit of 62 for almost the entire run.
Finally!! With such updates, the route uses its full potential. Im very impressed by the new timetable. Looking forward to more remasters.
For PC: First of all, thanks for this big update. Looks promising. However, the first scenario I wanted to play from the timetable update for the BR218 doesn't seem to work. There is no train to be seen and when you restart you start at a different station/ location every time? See screenshot example: First start and restart.
Scoring appears to be bugged. Even with all safety systems active, ICE services only award +35 points for driving under the speed limit once the train enters an LZB zone, instead of the expected +65 points. Under PZB, the scoring seems to work correctly. As a result, it's currently impossible to earn a platinum medal on the ICE services I've tested so far. Screenshot shows that I maintained the speed limit throughout the entire service, yet the points awarded for safety systems were still far too low.
Now that we are getting more and more TOD4 locos and trains on TOD3 routes, you have to somehow teach their signal and tail lights to light up properly on TOD3 routes. A kind of dual mode so that the loco knows when it is on TOD3 and when it is on TOD4 and how its lights have to light up. Looks inacceptable, you have to admit, don't you?! The timetable itself is really amazing, especially the LZB action for BR 103, I would like to see more of it. You have done a great job, respect to everyone who was involved, thank you very much.
I cannot confirm this, neither before nor after the update, regardless of whether ATB or timetable update. The red Vectron has never caused me any technical problems. Apart from the fact that you no longer get bonus points for activated safety systems after the ATB update (neither in Germany nor in the Netherlands) and its signal lights and cab interior move independently of the loco body it works just fine everywhere.
my K-A collectibles went to Zero's or is it zeroes ? But my two mastery tiers were preserved. My profile for Schn. Köln-Aachen looks odd ... anyone else thinks theirs looks odd ? Scenarios completed: zero. Looking at the 2 mastery tiers, that could be consistent ... maybe i did scenarios on Xbox before moving more to PS5 from PS4. Or got K-A first under Epic ... dunno. P.S. getting back 20 maps was not a chore as i was enjoying the rail traffic. What a difference ! And railyards that are not empty !
Are you using the CabView mod by a chance? That has been causing crashes for me after the ATP update for the Vectron.
Great update, finally more traffic on this route ! But why did you delete the regionals trains with the BR 422 in this new timetable for the persons who don't have "New journeys expension". It was in the original timetable and now I lost these services. I suggest that we could do all S11, S12 and S19 services also with BR 422 and not only with BR 423 from "New journey expension".
Until it gets fixed, you should be able to walk up to the train. Teleport to Horrem and then go here:
Service-killing bug. Stolberg Gbf Shunting: at the very last instruction in this loooong shunting service ("Couple to 9 Vehicles"), a switch is set wrong, sending you off-path. There is NO WAY to finish this service (I can't figure out a console command to change the switch) (An additional glitch: when you pass and acknowledge the caution signal at the beginning of this move, the PZB buzzer sounds continuously and will not shut off) _________________________________ EDIT: The two are connected, and it's really my fault; but there's still a bug. The "caution" signal isn't; it's an HP 0 Stop, which the signaller on request changes to an HP 0 + Ra 12 (Shunting Bypass Permitted)- this requires a "PZB Befehl" to pass. My not doing this set off the buzzer, and caused the dispatcher not to set the route. The bug lies in the fact that not using PZB Befehl should have resulted in a SPAD (and a restart from checkpoint option), not the ability to continue "wrong"
With this new tt by Joe, this route is fun to drive. solicitr I am going to try some of the shunting services next.
Scoring is bugged on the BR101. Safety systems are on and scoring 65 points, as soon as you enter LZB you only get 35 points, once out of LZB then the 65 points start again.
I'm a PS5 player so not had this update obviously. However, it is worth noting this same problem occurs on Frankfurt- Fulda on the relatively short LZB section so it's a core TSW5 issue. I can see this being more of a problem for scoring on Koln-Aachen for ICE services as the LZB section is much more substantial.
The entire route no longer works for me (even the previous version) - when loading, the game crashes immediately with an access violation. Already tested on several PCs, even with an empty savegame (without mods)
Where are the 218s? Trying to launch a 218 service just dumps you on the platform at Koln Hbf. If you try to do it on foot, by spawning into Horrem just before 23:31 (where the service is supposed to start)- no 218.
The timetable is excellent. Love the variety and the diesel services too. Big well done to the creator of this! Only thing that lets it down is the old lighting. Hopefully this route will get an update to bring it up to standard, even if it was in the form of a paid add on (new train maybe?).
The only BR 218 service that shows up for me is at 12:31, not sure if there are other services I am missing
Pretty much 95% of the depot moves can't be completed with platinum. Why does it have to be so? How in the hell is the score even calculated? Also, 423 services starting from Deutzerfeld start you outside the map limit and kick you out as soon as you move a bit. And if you somehow proceed after that with respawning+Ctrl-0, the track speed shows 97km/h.
Ok i own every addon except for main-spessart-bahn and the railpool vectron, so i understand why i don't see the BR 146 as a playable loco. But i cant choose the BR 218 neither and i have definetly installed it. Although i find it quite frustrating that any other BR 146 can't be used since i own all the other ones.
Also, the 425 from HRR was NOT updated with the new PIS, despite it being in the patch notes that 425 was updated with new PIS, and the 425 from HRR being the one required for the 425 services. As a result it can't show its destinations.
Some of the requirements for the timetable layers seem to be either just bad planning or straight out trying to get people to buy more add-ons without any proper reason. For example, we have this one: The timetable already makes use of the Ruhr Sieg Nord variant BR 363, which required the base route, which already contains the Roos-t wagons. So why not use those instead of the Hamburg-Lübeck ones? Other than that, it's nice! I don't have too much german add-ons, but the ones I have all seem to take some part in this timetable, which is good to see. I'm also glad the BR155 finally subs in to this one, so finally another route where I can drive it. And here it can properly stretch it's legs at 90-100 km/h, instead of the usual 60-80 provided by RSN or MSB.
I'm still hoping the BR642 will get a performance update at some point. The train accelerates sooooooo slowly it's basically broken; brakes are also too powerful in minimum settings. It just needs a general week of TLC.
That's not far off prototypical- the 642 is basically a replacement for the 628, built to chug along local services. It isn't a hotrod like the 612. Two diesel engines with an output of 370 hp (Compare the 612, 750 hp per car)
DTG Alex Small point of order, the title of this thread should probably be 'Köln - Aachen' with spaces either side of the dash, rather than Köln-aachen.
There's prototypical sluggishness, which is modelled well in the Class 170 on the Fife Circle, and there's barely-get-above-70kmh kind of performance in the 642. I'm not expecting it to be a rocket, but when it can barely reach line speed on the flat, there's something wrong.
This is a very annoying DTG thing since 1-2 years. Vectron substitution on semmering has been "fixed' according to the patch notes once, same for the 1116 substitution on vorarlberg. Just to find out its all tobuwabohu LOVE, probably intentional cutted to release the patch before ready.
Trying some of the freight services, it appears that things, while perfectly functional, could be better. Only tried 3 so far, but it looks like all the empty freight are limited to 100 km/h. Seen as such for the 20x Zacns and 32x Shimmns. I believe both should have been limited to 120 km/h. It also seems that the timetable is using the RSN version of the Shimmns (-u and -ttu), I'd rather have had a more recent iteration of those with functional G/P and Empty/Loaded brake settings.
What about the 110 and the 422 layers? They said in the article that some services ( RE4 and S6) would be playable.
Additionally (I don't know to where else this may extend) at the very least on the 642 and Dresden-Riesa 146 it is impossible to manually set the destination on trains not spawned in by you (even parked ones). On the 642 it defaults back to what it was, on the 146 (if it even displays in the first place when you spawn in it, it didn't for a RE1 to Hamm to me) it disappears altogether. I appreciate that they spawn with an auto set destination (and those with the button to, have a reset to that) but that it can't be changed is silly.
Some more positive feedback. The "static" trains over the route are really cool. Just had some fun around Aachen shunting them around. Could take one of the freight locos from HBf. to Rothe Erde Depot without a single issue in pathing, even though that siding seems to be missing a signal protecting the mainline. Just avoided the TGV coming in ). And then managed to pull out a 425 from the depot at Rothe Erde and bring it up to the depot at Aachen HBf. The pathing for this one included some wrong side running which was cool, signals and PZB all working fine there. Great work done by Joe, and shows what could be the state of the game if every project got "unlimited" time. I can only dream one day MSB and RSN would get a similar timetable update officially.
The objective radius for the last stop of 642 services is too narrow. Since most of the H-signs are missing or wrong, you can't really do it hudless. Sad.
Even the stop at Eilendorf seems to have waaay too strict of a tolerance. That station also appears to have its PIS inverted? Both issues I believe can be seen here, at 14:20 circa:
I tried again. But the situation is still broken. How about you all with the s12 service? The car stops at a red light in front of the destination, but no matter how many times I try to operate it, when I open and close the door after arriving, it asks me to open it again, and I can't end the operation.
