Hey all, I have got to complete a freight service yet, only did them for about 20 mins and then got back to driving the ICE. Question though: It was mentioned several times, that due to the business of the route the freight services would have to pull over frequently to let the ICE's past. In the freight services I started I looked into the "timetable" (pressed T) and couldn't see any mention of having to wait and stop and so on. I remember from Hamburg - Lübeck that some freight services had that scheduled stop to let the RE's past. Is this just not a thing and the stops are more randomly/not remarked in the timetable or did I just pick services that seemingly don't have to pull over?
The description will just be the end points and which direction you are going. That's always how it's been. It's not like the train stops at these specific points or stuff like that I guess. Whether you stop constantly or not will depend on how busy the line is with ice trains. There's only a couple that run during the night. One thing you can do is to compare the time length of different freight services. Some will be longer than others, meaning you will have to stop often. Others would be shorter, meaning less stops.
I imagine you will be stopped by signals rather than instructions. As was said above, keep an eye on the duration of the runs, the longer ones are more likely to have the stops.
Alright, cheers guys. I was referencing the Hamburg - Lubeck service where the stop/pause on one train station was mentioned as a "Wait until XX:XX" on a few services.
