Hello guys, many of you may know me of my previous modern day timetable for Bremen - Oldenburg. Now here comes the announcement of my second timetable project: Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel - Würzburg (set in 2024) As already teased in my thread about Bremen - Oldenburg, I have been working on a modern timetable of Kassel - Würzburg for the past few months since release of my first timetable. So what will be new in this timetable compared to the original one?: There will be several new types of trains that can be used all over the route. The big ones are the ICE-T, BR 101 Expert and Flixtrain, although the Flixtrain will only have 1 playable service as in reality. Nevertheless, there are 5 Ai services in Fulda to discover. Also, as you may know from my previous project, I love to include as many realistic Ai services as possible. So this one will make no exception and will feature tons of new Ai services all around the whole route, to bring it to a fully new level of representation. Current state of development: As I've already been working on this for the past few months, at this point all the long distance services are finished. Including the ICE1, ICE3, ICE-T, BR 101 Expert and Flixtrain. In addition to that, most of the Ai in Kassel and Fulda are done, with for Kassel the only thing missing are freight services. As for Würzburg, the current state is roughly 30% of all regional services. So as you can see, development has already progressed very well and therefore the release will also be not too far away. My current plan is to release it sometime in the next 2 months, so still in this year. I hope that many of you will be looking forward to this and will have as much fun with it as with my Bremen - Oldenburg timetable. Very much looking forward to this. Kassel - Würzburg was never the most exciting route to me and the original timetable was fine, but nothing to write home about, so this will definitely breathe some new life into it, especially now that we have the ICE T. Just a quick question: Any chance this will be compatible with the excellent ICE 1 Enhancement Pack?
Progress Update Here comes a new update on my timetable project for KWG! Work on this project has continued pretty good since the announcement, although not as far as I had hoped. However, I still plan to release it this year. So, what has changed since the announcement? In the meantime, I worked on the remaining new passenger services and worked on a little side project to enhance the timetable. What new services have been implemented ?: As the timetable was already pretty far when I announced it, there aren't so many new services in comparison and rather some tweaks to the existing work. The last services I worked on were the RB 53 services passing next to the high speed line on the regional line to and from Jossa/ Schlüchtern. Also, all the passenger services have been implemented on all 3 Stations along the route. So the only thing missing as of now are freight services and a little bit of shunting for these. Little timetable enhancement: The other thing I worked on is an expansion of the existing list of destinations for the PIS system! As I've worked on the services, I noticed that for some of them there aren't any PIS stations, so I worked on getting these into the route as well. After a few days of work, all services now got their proper PIS and there will be some special destinations for you to explore too! That's it for today. As you can see it is progressing very well and as of now we've got a total service number of 1.365 along the route and that all without freight at this point. Below I got some new screenshots out of Fulda and Würzburg for you to explore. Maybe you can find one or another special/ new thing. Stay tuned! Xander1986 You should be able to switch from this timetable to the Kinzigtalbahn, however this timetable is set in 2024 and Kinzigtalbahn in 2018, so not all services will be available in both timetables. But despite that, yes. Labra Yes I will look into it. Normally it should just sub for the normal ICE services, but at this point it is somehow not working.
Amazing project! ICE trains are my favs so KWG is obviously one of my favourite routes, it's also why I really wish that the SFS Köln-Rhein/Main is implemented some day. Just a question: Will the Railbow pack layer onto the timetable?
diseverinix Yes, the Railbow 403 is subbing for the normal BR 403. Also, I began working on the freight services as of today and the total number of services in the timetable is now at 1.400!
Preview UpdateToday, Matin_TSP is showcasing a preview version of this timetable mod. It's not the current state with a bunch of freight services included but with all passenger services. Progress Update Today I give you a little update on the progress of this timetable project. Originally, my plan was to release it today as a Christmas present for all of you. Sadly, I still need some time to bring in the last batch of service and fine tune the existing services in terms of timing and stops. Because of that I'm now aiming for a release in early January and with that the timetable will be instantly updated to the schedule of the 2025 timetable. At this stage I haven't looked into what has changed all over the route, but there certainly are some differences as for example the appearance of the IC2 in Kassel and Fulda, also if it's just as an Ai service. Despite the delay, the timetable is already in a pretty good state and the only services missing are the playable freight services running along the whole line in the night hours. Everything else during the whole day like passenger trains and Ai freight trains is already done and just needs some minor tweaking here and there. So it shouldn't take too long to make the last bit of it ready. Christmas present Although I can't bring you the promised timetable mod today, I got another little present for you later today. With the new BR 406 from the Mannheim-Kaiserslautern route: Will you add this (in a later version)? Since the 406 now pretty much runs next to the 403 it would be a nice addition, wouldn't it?
A long time has passed since the last news 4 months ago and i would like to ask if there is an update on this project or if any major issue occured with it? Looking at the last news here it seemed to be nearly completed and was only delayed do to minor fixes, not to mention it already looked fantastic in a preview stream. To be clear i dont want to stress and i think there are probably good reasons why this thread went silent.
