Can somebody help me out by explaining how the timetables work in KW?

I seem to remember something about 2 overlapping timetables to form a 24hr period but when I do an overnight service by freight there never seem to be any ICEs and vice versa…. Even when there should be some

    very confused

Freight only runs at night so they can be out of the way by the time the ICE’s start running in the morning. They shouldn’t overlap that much

In fact, they are not allowed to overlap, as a train with passengers may never pass a freight train in a tunnel on here…

Ok, I think I may have asked the wrong question.

I guess the question I want answering is ‘when is the cutoff time for this timetable?’

Other timetables, it seems, end/ start at midnight but this one doesn’t as there are services during the night. However, if you do a dawn freight service to wurzburg, continue on foot once completed and then wait for an ICE, nkk on me of them ever arrive.

No, the timetable is not looped. It will end after the last train has arrived.

This was explained recently on a stream, I believe, where timetables were discussed. Maybe someone remembers where exactly it was stated, as I don’t (getting old…).

I remember that back when the route came out, they explained that they implemented some new timetable innovations due to the importance of night freight on that route. I believe previously, no trains could be “moving” at midnight, but now services are able to start before midnight and then carry on to the next day. But the timetable will still fizzle out at some point, so it’s not an endless loop. That’s my understanding at least.
