This EMU needs no introduction. It's basically a modernized M7 (verify this please). This would be a great pro range dlc that Reppo should consider making for the Hudson Line, NYNH, and the Long Island Railroad route especially, and that DTG and DTM should keep their paws off for obvious reasons. The M9, like the AEM-7 and E60, would come in two liveries: -Long Island Railroad -Metro North Not only does this scratch that itch for more American EMUs, it's also another LIRR and Metro North loco to experiment with, create scenarios with, and add more variety to certain routes. One of the best parts about this EMU in particular, is that everything is automated Most LIRR/Metro North M series EMUs can have ATC disabled and also need to have their brakes charged by pressing and holding a button on the panel to the left of the engineer. This is NOT the case with the M9, in which everything is automated, so the ATC cannot be disabled and the brakes don't need to be charged via a button. It's all automatic and works by itself, on 24/7. According to Sean, this apparently done because they didn't want some idiot kid messing with things because kids are stupid. Max speed by design is 100mph Max service speed is 80mph 2,200 Horsepower Per unit ATC and Pulse Cab Signaling Pneumatic, Dynamic and Regenerative Brakes In service as of September 11, 2019 200 Built Numbers 9001-9202 Married Pairs Formation Capacity: 111 in Car A and 102 in Car B Third Rail, 750 Volts Budd Pin and Cup Coupler Positive Train Control CCTV Cameras Public Address Speakers and Electronic designation signs M9s were equipped with Nathan K2H Horns with K2B and K3B bells. "Like the M7s and M8s, the M9s feature external public address speakers and electronic destination signs on the sides of the car, as well as automated announcements and interior LED displays that show the current station, the following station, and the train's destination. However, like the M8s, the M9s feature additional exterior destination signs at the front and rear of the train. Furthermore, the internal and external destination signs display the car's position within a train (for example: "Car 1 of 8"), to assist passengers getting off at stations with short platforms that do not span the entire train length.[7] There are also new automated announcements that are easier to hear and understand than those of the M7/M7A, M8, and C3 fleets." All information obtained from the EMU's Wikipedia article, except the mention of the systems being automated which was stated by Sean. Link to video will be at the very bottom. Unlike the M9s, the M9As will additionally feature USB ports installed in each alternating current electrical outlet, powered bathroom doors, stainless steel urinals in each bathroom, and Gorilla Glass side windows that do not haze, fade or crystallize.[7] LIRR 2 EMU BOOGALOO | TSW4 | First Look | #trainsimworld - YouTube (full video) (Part where Sean mentions the systems are automated) It's at the 1 hour, 5 min mark. 1:00:05
