i would want to keep the section where you chose 2 "liverys" which divides the 2, 8 car and 4 car units of the 465 and not all bundled into one whole timetable i think we should keep it like that because i prefer driving a 8 car unit of the 465 than 4 car.
I’d rather the services were all in one list. It can take a long time scrolling through them but at least you know they are all there. As there is usually no way to distinguish the different options (bad labelling) when selecting them, or there are overlaps of services between the lists that come up after choosing, it’s very hard to tell what you are selecting before the timetable comes up. It’s labelled as change livery and should just be for different liveries. The almost random utilisation of the livery selection system for other purposes is a fudge by DTG rather than a designed system and is therefore not fit for that purpose. If they were to come up with a satisfactory system, where you knew exactly what you were selecting, with decent labels and not the ambiguous click and see selection process we have now, then maybe separate them out. Until then, it’s a flawed system that confuses the player. With a single list you won’t be able to tell what length your train will be but you can’t tell that now because of the labelling on the options.
I didn't even know there was this option until reading the forums lately. Just imagine what new and non-forum players could be missing out on- there's no explanation, just the expectation that you will understand the developers design. If I want to drive a train, I just want to select it and choose the time to go. Maybe car length could be helpfully marked in the rosta instead.
They should really keep it like that, so that we have a choice of which consist we want to use. However, maybe there could be a better way in the UI, so that it does not go through the Livery option, and that it is made more clear. For example, the same way there is a livery selector menu, there could be a consist menu, where you could chose between the different consists and they would have meaningful names so you can distinguish. And for those people that don't like the choice of choosing, have all services when you just click on the train, but when you go into the consist selection menu, you see the services for the specific consist you would like to drive.
Instead of making you choose a "livery" to choose a length they should combine them in one AND show you the information you get at the start of the service (length, weight, NR. OF CARS) on the service listing BEFORE you select it. Then you would have them all in one spot, but you would still know which are short and which are long.
i agree with Monder i wish dovetail games has the option to show the number of units before you start because like i said i prefer driving the 8 car units and i hate having to plead with the game for it to be a 8 car (correct me if im wrong) it was the same for the 375 you could choose 2 "liverys" and maybe it was an 8 car or 4 car unit
