Hi guys! Since I'm a big fan of diesel routes and northern Germany, I'll try to develop my own little freeware TSW route. The route is the “Kleinbahn Niebüll-Dagebüll”. “Kleinbahn” can be taken literally because the route is only 14.7km long. The NEG (Norddeutsche Eisenbahn Niebüll) runs the route with the BR 628, coupled with IC wagons. The train services on the route are: RB65 - Niebüll - Deezbüll - Maasbüll - Dagebüll Kirche - Dagebüll Mole/Hafen IC2216 - Niebüll - Dagebüll Mole/Hafen IC2312 - Niebüll - Dagebüll Mole/Hafen (The "Dagebüll Hafen" train station is only used during storm surges) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the moment I'm still having some problems with the TSW editor due to crashes, but I hope I can get the whole thing working. I hope you are interested in my idea
Very nice idea! Most of the rolling stock used irl is already in Tsw so this problem should be solved. Also got very interesting formations and services. Good luck
That reminds me of when I was in the wrong part of the train and got shunted on to the 628 for Dagebull. Was chasing 218s so didn't stay on after the shunt.
This actually is a pretty cool idea, I'm intrigued. Though one thing I want to know is if there is a particular reason why they hook up the IC cars to the DMU instead of just having an IC train with a diesel lok drive?
It's not worth having an entire IC go to Dagebüll because the demand is simply too low. That's why two to three wagons are uncoupled from the Intercity to Sylt and transferred to the Dagebüll port. Most tourists then take a ferry from the port to the surrounding islands.
A nice hour long portrait by German train YTer „Beutezug“ about the route and its operation can be watched here: It’s obviously in German, however, you get a good idea about the vibes and the ops…
This video actually gave me the idea to create the route. But thanks anyway Btw I understand German, I'm from Germany
[Deutsche Version unten] Hi, I like the idea very much. I had an internship with the NEG this January and can´t wait to drive the route myself The NEG is actually running the route with two-engined versions of the BR 628. Otherwise they wouldn´t be able to tow the IC wagons due to the internal coupling being to weak to hold the extra weight with the motorcar ahead. I know such a version isn´t really in the game, but it can already kinda be achieved with the Formation Designer. Well, it lacks all the optical connections between the cars and you can´t shut the engines off, but it´s definitely way more fun to drive than the regular BR 628. Maybe I´ll create a well working and looking version, but I don´t now how to do that at all, so I would have to teach myself that first. And for now, I don´t have enough time for that...
