Hopefully okay to post here as not in direct competition to DTG.

This normally sells for nearly £50 which is (IMHO) way overpriced for a FMV based sim with no diurnal, seasonal or weather variations in the gameplay. No substitute for a graphic engine based sim. Especially as the same company's Meitetsu Sim sells for under £10.

However at £11.75 it's a bargain and chance to try something a bit different.

Agreed, it's a good one. The video quality is a bit poor, but the rest of the game is great. Feels well made and especially fun with a controller, as you can use the joysticks as the throttle and brake handles, and also the controller rumbles in your hands as you go over points and joints.

Excellent, looking forward to trying it later. Back in the day I was a huge fan of the Densha de Go games, paying a fortune to import them and upsetting the wife by "modding" the Playstation so it wouldn't spit out (legitimately purchased) Japanese discs due to Sony's short sighted regional coding.

This would be a nice route to have in TSW actually. Short and electrified, all stations 2 car EMU.

My initial thoughts are once everything is unlocked this will be an occasional dabble. Video clip based sims are a bit, well, yesterday really.

I bought this when it was on sale recently on the PS Store and it was mainly because I have travelled on the line in real life. It is fun even if it is very limited and the video quality is poor. It does have different seasons to play in but not the big choice of the likes of TSW.

That’s good to know about the seasons. At present I’m working through the station by station unlock process in each direction before I can do the full runs. I also bought their Meitetsu version as that was only £7 but could be more challenging due to not much English in the game. Apparently there is some sort of Google overlay you can use to help which is something I need to investigate.
