I have noticed, especially on German DLC, that there is lacking on layering. IMO, SKA has the best layering so far. Yes, S-Bahn services should be driven with BR423 instead of 422, but there is a lot of variety on available services. And same on HMA. But what's wrong with layering? Example, BR 425 and upcoming BR 101 are one of my fav German trains. But there is not very much to do with them. Yes, BR 425 has layer for HMA, but the problem is that it actually don't run on HMA in real life. And there is a route called Main-Spessart Bahn available for TSW2, which would be appropriate for BR425. But what about BR 101? Can you explain me what's going on? Ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous. It's very important loco, and having it in TSW2 is a good thing, but there is not very much to do with it. It contains layer only for HRR, which may be a good S-Bahn route, but bad IC route. Driving from Duisburg to Bochum with IC train can last max. 25 minutes. That's way too bit, so if i'll buy it, I wouldn't anyway use it. I will not buy BR 101, if it don't add layer for other routes in long time, or there's no new routes, which are getting layer from 101, because spending money for DLC, which is just decorating a commuter train route, is absolutely bad idea. There are four routes (RRO MSB HMA HBL) which are appropriate for this loco, but for some reason BR 101 don't add layer for these routes. Is it due to limited amount of time? If this is the reason, DTG would add layers for these routes later. But. If there is no changes coming to layering anymore? I'm using upcoming Hamburg - Lübeck as example. I am going to buy HBL, because it's a part of international railway line connecting Germany and Denmark, and that's why it's interesting. But when it will be released, will it's layering be permanent forever, and will it also apply for other new routes? If it is, layering is no more fun. Sorry.
DTG have never, to date, added layers to an older route for a newer loco. Which makes sense: doing so would mean rebuilding an old route's timetable from scratch. Rather, when a new route comes out it includes layers for locos that exist at that time.
