Moin, UK, US, Germany.. all fair and good, but other countries have awesome rail lines and assortments of rolling stock too. Like Italy. And this route I've picked here certainly ticks many marks of awesomeness: Starting in bustling and monumental Milano Centrale, we begin with some miles of commuter line toward Monza (of Formula One fame), then continue further north toward the Alps, via an old mainline recently upgraded to fairly high speeds until we reach Lecco. From here on it's full on Alpine, with tunnel after tunnel, tons of turns and twists, a few single-track sections, small stations hugging the mountainside, and all that as we follow the shore of beautiful Lake Como. The route has a few more stations than usual, but for once many of them are just as basic as it gets, and most in the renovated part appear to share a common style of architecture. Very nice proposal, well documented. I would support this route, last year spent some time on a consulting job in this region and can attest to the variety of and beauty than can be found. Rented an Alpine Chalet near Aviano and viewed the train as it progressed up the valley as I was commuting to the Air Base thinking this would be a great route for either TSW or TS 201X
