Just thought I would share the location of 3 northern pike over 30lb. Had them all in the same session. Head for miller marina and you will see a small circular island. On the SE shore there is a small cliff face. All pike were caught along here with the 8 inch shattered glass spoon in the afternoon in light cloud conditions in the afternoon. Regarding the musky.. twice I hooked into musky (I could see they were both huge musky) along this cliff face that took me out 200yrds and I lost it twice. The line I was using was 20lb so I am assuming I didn’t have strong enough line on and Im thinking it possibly mercer or Monroe. Tightlines all.
Go with a 80lb line, thats what i use and still have some huge fights. With the big ones that swim out a lot i will follow them using the troll motor. I lost a big one the other day, so i decided to try that method and the next one i got was Sheboygan.
