The Lambton Hetton and Joicey Railway, known in short as the LHJC, was a network made up of collieries setup in Sunderland, Sherburn Colliery being the furthest colliery on the network. By the year 1860, the mix of mainlines and branch lines totaled a mileage of up to 70 miles, being one of the largest colliery based railways in the country!

Not only was the system engine powered, there we also self-acting inclines on parts of the network which would bring the opportunity for something new to Train Simulator. Alongside the self-acting inclines, it also means getting the unique and prototype designs built specifically for the Networks different loading gauge on the branch lines, being the reason for the curved roofs for a large amount of their fleet, these also being modified designs of classes such as the Hunslet 0-6-0 Austerity.

Alongside offering new experiences for Train Simulator, it can offer large amount of track to explore with large amounts of shunting. It can provide multiple hours of fun and shows a railway not known by many, the now best living relics of the colliery and branches being the preserved locomotives.
