Believe it or not, there was already a Lego UP Big Boy that received 10,000 supporters! It's from the exact same person who seems to have submitted the one you're showing. Lego didn't approve the set however, and was vague about the reasons it may have been denied. I was really disappointed when I heard that it wasn't approved.

I suspect the original Big Boy submission didn’t get made as it would have been too expensive and with the limited market for such a set, they considered it wasn’t worth it.

Look at the price of the new Hogwarts Express for example. A lot of people on various Lego forums are not buying that purely because it costs too much (Me included). Lego obviously believe that with Train Fans and Harry Potter fans, they will still sell enough. But I can’t see the Big Boy holding mass appeal. I hope I’m wrong and we see it one day.

Not the first Big Boy and won't be the last. LEGO once said that they don't do more trains since the market for trains is much smaller and more splintered (people are usually most interested in the trains they know) than that of for example cars. While I'd like to be wrong, I highly doubt any Ideas train will actually make it to a set.

Same here. I love trains. I love Harry Potter. But I don't have that kind of money laying around for something like this.
