Trains: Cross Country (XC) class 170 (This could include both 2 and 3 car variants) Route: This route is approximately 39 miles, with a Journey time of 55mins. Stations: Leicester South Wigston Narborough Hinckley Nuneaton Coleshill Parkway Birmingham New Street Overview: Although this route doesn't have many stations, it does have potential for extensions in the future such as extensions to Peterborough, and even to Stansted Airport. This route also has layer potential as the 170 would layer onto MML, as drivable services between Derby and Nottingham, and AI services from Derby to Cardiff, and the like. It could also layer onto BCC, for drivable services between Birmingham New Street and Bromsgrove, via University. This would also layer onto the ECML as AI at Peterborough
If the license could be obtained then this would make a perfect ‘shorter’ route in the game. Both Leicester and New Street stations are already modelled, the class 170 already exists too (5 points each for Opportunity) plus there’s decent layering at both ends (and hopefully at Nuneaton soon too!) The icing on the cake would be the regular Intermodals that squeeze in alongside the fast and slow pax services. Probably a few of the Cargo Line add-ons would be here too. The A5 bridge near Hinckley would also be a highlight. Perhaps it can get struck by a lorry 13 times a year as well!
