I would be very keen to revisit Isle of Wight railway because it's pretty stunning map. Small but rewarding. In Train Sim 2019 it also came with a noisy small steam engine but that can be excluded for the momment. What you'd get with it is a personell carrier that hops up and down the map and the main workhorse for the line, is the the class 483, which are refurbished 1938 London Underground trains. Electric. Isle of Wight will be an English DLC/European. Not a major one but think of it like the West and Somerset Railway. TSW will make it better and the experience. It's just a matter of intrest and support for the idea. An intresting point, the class 483 is around 75 years old, making it the oldest type in Great Britain to remain in regular service.
I'd love to see the Isle of Wight in the game! A slight suggestion, possibly - set the route in the 30s and 40s, which would allow for Southern Railway steam stock and the lines between Ryde and Ventnor, Sandown and Ventnor Town, Brading and Bembridge, and Smallbrook Junction to Cowes. Maybe a locomotive such as the Adams O2 could be included for stock? Sorry for hijacking the post a bit.
I reckon it could be cool to release an Isle of Wight addon with locomotives and EMUs from different eras - it could really benefit from DTG's editor tools when they come out! You could have both generations of Tube stock (ex-Standard Stock Class 485 and 486, then ex-1938 Stock Class 483s) for services in the EMU era, Steam trains and diesels for the IOWSR and scenarios set before the 70's. If DTG was feeling extra cheeky, they could even consider releasing a modern version of the route with the suggested re-opening of the line into Newport that's been campaigned for by people on the Isle of Wight for a little while now.
