With the Gloosop line out this week we can now look ahead on what's next. Let's speculate what will be on July's road map. Any new routes? New locos? the 700 launch date? NYT timetable confirmation date? other patches? What are you excited for the most?

Hopefully a date for Class 700 release.
Reveal the JT route and new train.
Reveal the big three summer in house releases (or at least confirm there is something brewing).
More info on what ATS are working on.
More info on what UW are working on (if not abandoned).
Where we stand with the BR420, BR232 and BR218.

I suspect the class 700 and Vectron will be a July release so I suspect there will be a feature on that
I would imagine and certainly hope we get a reveal for the contents of the JT release
There surely will be something else from DTG as currently the only DTG content outstanding is the 700 and Vectron so surely there will be something to reveal.
Probably news of the next RIvet project.
I think possibly some Skyhook DLC for MML
Hopefully an update on ATS and UW

  6. When was the TSW3 routes announced? August?

And Rush Hour was announced 30 or 60 days before?

Hope ATS are working on a ECML

  8. Will be 21-23 days before 2nd September for the usual 3 major routes..... or 4?

    https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw-roadmap-10-08-22

But this doesn't take into account ad hoc and 3rd party routes which are not part of that collective haul.

  9. Alan Thomson?

Why is it I get the feeling that ATS ir Just Trains??? I am a little confused. Maybe you can clear it up for me>? Sorry to ask you a hard one!!

  10. ECML or better yet, GEML Ipswich!

A WCML or ECML has to come very soon. Long, long overdue.....

I think the original TSC had ECML Newcastle to York in the first release TSC1 2008? along with GWR to Oxford and Cajon Pass?

I much prefer WCML over Shap though and Trent on Stoke and Birmingham London etc... GEML Ipswich...

The original Railworks, which I remember playing was London - Oxford, Newcastle - York, Bristol - Exeter and Keith Ross WCMLOS, with the original 390, HST and class 166, memories man

The original Rail Simulator (prior to Railworks) had from my recollection:

Paddington to Oxford with HST, 166 and class 47
Newcastle to York with class 47 and 55
Bath to Templecombe with Stanier 5MT and S&D 7F 2-8-0
Hagen to Seigen with I think the BR 101 and another locomotive which I cannot recall, may have been a diesel shunter

There was a US version which had Cajon Pass and I think was missing one of the UK routes if I recall correctly, we are going back 16 years and I have been asleep since then!

I think these were considered the "base or default" routes throughout Railworks until TS20xx started to appear.

Bristol to Exeter was the first third party release I believe by Just Trains, I remember it and the Voyager pre-release being shown at a simulator exhibition in Birmingham, at the Think Tank I think it was.

  14. No not Bristol... never. Was Cajon Pass..... unless there was a distinct UK version?

Here Hagen Siegen also as well Castle Rock...

The US version didn't have Newcastle-York, it was available as a separate purchase.
Railworks had all five routes regardless of region, plus the three semi-fictional routes Hedborough North, Seebergbahn, and Castle Rock Railroad.

Simple thing is that both are different.

Ats made routes such as the ecml merge, working on a wcml merge and chat moss.

Jt created content such as mml, hope valley, gwml and met line

  19. A bit of conjecture here but someone did say DTG have the signal diagrams for the entire Sydney train (urban) network. I wish I could include Japan, a Tokyo JR or Odakyu or Keikyu or other private company route.

    Sydney NSW, Australia

    French TGV route

    WCML or similar mainline

Possibly another route like Spirit of Steam was released as the last TSW2 route....

Also a German route hasn't been listed. I wish for Berlin Leipzig... but that is my own bias with no info.....

I think DTG is being secretive but have probably dropped some hints somewhere where we have missed it.

I like to see what has happened with TSC.

Cajon Pass was released with TSW3 and was a primary route in Railworks.

And who is that someone and how do you know that's true. Having signal diagrams is very different from actually developing it, having the license and creating all the new tools and assets to create an Australian route.

Unfortunately I think the class 43 GWR variant livery editor will be on the next roadmap, been waiting for it for months, and unfortunately seems to be kept back each month.

    To say the least.

You really should cut down on this constant wild, fanciful posting, for your own good.

You run the risk of people not taking you seriously, if they don't already.

I have it on good authority. (The uncle of my friend´s cousin).
It is coming. This time. And for sure. A hundred percent. You can bet on it:

    1. UK - conclusive bug fix and patch release for TSW2 & 3, end of August
    2. Germany - conclusive bug fix and patch release for TSW2 & 3, end of August
    3. US - conclusive bug fix and patch release for TSW2 & 3, end of August

    Did I mention bug fixes?

Are you sure? Last year's Glasgow Subway, was a Thomson Interactive release. Rivet appeared much earlier - or is Rivet an offspring, parallel to Thomson?

It is mentioned that Alan helped setting up DTG's studio in Stirling - this is what became Rivet later it seems.

Possibly an amalgamation then but I was always under the impression they were connected. For example, both Thomson Interactive and Rivet inhibit their TSC assets from being manipulated after placement in a third party route (unless you unlock the asset and amend the bin file in TS Tools to selectable).

My guess would be us seeing a confirmation of a big summer release (with content hints?), more information on the Class 700 and Just Trains' new route (with a reveal perhaps?), and new project entries from Rivet and/or Skyhook. Still hoping for BR Green Diesels on Peak Forest as well...

    It looks like this.

Alan Thomson, at the time being a DTG/RSC/RSDL employee, helped setting up their Stirling based Studio, later founding his own company Thomson Interactive.

That Stirling DTG studio is what later became independent as Rivet Games.

Is it just me or does this look like the Road Map isnt going to be for the next couple of weeks?

The steam sale ends 13/7, so Im inclined to believe that the roadmap isnt going to be before this date and will result in the announcement of TSW4, more and more little things are adding up to TSW4 in my head, first we have the fact that no summer update has been announced yet, then we had TSW3 core getting a permanent price reduction, then we had the Humble Bumble mega bundle sale. If we indeed dont get a roadmap until the end of the steam sale I'll be convinced TSW4 is this year.

It would also be nice as a curveball if Dtg confirmed they've solved modular routes and intertwined timetables so they can expand on some of their routes to become networks.

That'd light a fire of interest and open the pockets of many I'm sure

Well we can hope there is some news of what DTG have in mind for the summer, even without any detail.

And I'm sure in the past they have revealed third party content on them.

announced newly in roadmap and first official talk is usually the stream, usually just involves stating it’s their and know more later.

I’m pretty sure I recall saying last month that I suspected this months roadmap would be the summer release, but based on I haven’t heard a major leak so close to the date as of this point, I’m going to say it won’t be this month..

It wouldn't be a " Roadmap " if it didn't indicate the direction they are going, including some general information about future content.

I think it might, they might just be keeping their cards close to their chest.

If it isn't all they are going to have are two imminently released loco/rolling stock DLC and a couple of third party routes, plus whatever fixes they might have planned.

The fact they have been quiet I think suggests there is going to be a biggish announcement.

Of course, I might be totally wrong.

Is hard to predict since two years ago Rush hour had already been announced, Last year July's roadmap was quiet with just Rivet's 484 DLC announcement which then followed with the big news at the end of July.
