The main map I work on keeps disappearing on startup of the editor the only way I can open it or make it reappear is to go to recent open maps. Anyone else experiencing this weird and annoying bug?
happens with lots of files, among RVV/RVD ones aswell (which is annoying to me as I am working on something aswell). DTG has put that in the December roadmap, so they're working on it.
No, I'm not experiencing this bug yet. Your landscape should not disappear when the Editor loads the map. But question: Do you selected "Last Opened" for the "Load Level at Startup" entry in the Editor Preferences [Go to Edit menu -> Editor Preferences -> under tab "General" -> "Loading & Saving" ]?
I also have the problem that my map file is gone. The editor crashed and now my map file is gone. If I right click on my plugin in the content browser and select: "Show in Explorer", the file is there. Only the editor does not recognize the file. I've restarted several times and it doesn't help. Does anyone have an idea what to do there?
Known bug that files do not show up in the Editor, although they reside in the respective folder. Drag and drop the file from Windows Explorer back into the folder in the Editor, usually solves the issue.
Oh yeah, that's a really annoying bug. However, when I tried drag and drop, I got the following error message: "Failed to import... ...Unknown Extension 'umap' " In other words: the editor does not recognize its own file. Strange. However, when I was still looking for a solution, I came across a thread by fceschmidt in which there is a command: "MAP LOAD FILE="../../ Plugins/<PluginName>/Content/<pathToMap>. umap" TEMPLATE=0 SHOWPROGRESS=1 FEATURELEVEL=3" Replacing the dots and arrow brackets with the entire path of the map file will load the file. Lo and behold: it then appears again in the content browser.
You can probably also open your map from the recently open maps menu in the top left corner. I find that easier than using the console.
Yes, or you can make the the route to one of your favorites. Helpful if you open more maps than 3 or 4 regularly.
