Limited Options For Edinburgh Glasgow

    I was hoping someone could tell me why only platform 5 for Glasgow queen street and platform 9 at Edinburgh Waverly are available for services to end at in scenario planner?

    Probably because that's how it's been set up

    Thought I would dig into this a little bit to help the O.P out and "Wow" I can't believe how little thought was given to this route when it comes to scenarios and paths. (Most routes are very poor in this regard but E2G is definitely the poorest I have seen so far).

    The route, as supplied, ships with only 6 paths.
    Edinburgh PL12/13/14 to Glasgow PL5 (3 paths) and Glasgow PL5/6/7 to Edinburgh PL9 (3 paths)
    And that's it. :o

    What that means is that you can do nothing else with this route in Scenario Planner other than run trains on those 6 'routes'. But even that isn't true as, really, you only get 2 paths (with each path having 3 departure points). So next to no chance for creativity there. (With the paths all having the same end point then you also have little scope for running one service behind another either).

    Personally I have always thought that Scenario Creators have been short-changed by TSW (with all the effort going into Timetables) but this example really takes the biscuit (or should that be "the shortbread"). :mad:

    It is a shame that I have only noticed this today as I am away from home for the next few days otherwise I might have given myself a timed exercise to see how long it would take me to double or even treble the number of paths available. (2 hours max assuming the route plays ball).

    For reference, having examined the route's map the following start/finish points could have been made available for scenario creation. (The markers are all there they just need to be joined together in the Editor).
    Queen Street - all 7 platforms
    Eastfield - 19 different sidings, Cadder - 7 sidings, Greenhill - 3 sidings, Haymarket Depot - 8 sidings
    Waverley - 22 platforms / sidings
    I'm not saying that all the above should've been opened up but, in just a couple of hours max, something at each location could have been made live. (And I haven't even included portals, of which there are lots, in the above list).

    Very poor (but true of many routes I'm afraid). :(

    Unfortunately true but even having three platforms at Edinburgh Waverly and Glasgow queen street and two set ups for freight would of been great

    Well it took a little bit longer than expected (3 hours to create the file and 3 days to find out why it wouldn't work !!) but have ended up with a mod that should add a further 61 paths to Edinburgh Glasgow for Scenario Creation. (All platforms at QS, most at Waverley, many portals, the Edinburgh Tram route and a few loops along the way). Still more testing to do but it looks like it can be done :)

    I have also added a 6-car CL385 formation just for the hell of it. (See menu screenshots below).

    Some screenshots from a test scenario to see what would happen. The 6 car unit worked fine and I was switched on to the Larbert line after Croy. So that is a good start. Just got to look at why the scenario train selection screen seems to duplicate all formations (amongst other things).

    Note that everything you can see here has been created from Scenario Editor and NOT Free Roam (so, hopefully, it will be possible to apply Community liveries and run multiple trains) :)

    That's awesome but I'm on Xbox x hopefully a minor mod support arrives on console
