Hi everyone! Today i pick a timetable service for an automotive train, i think it is the 06:40 service or something like that. The train weighted just a little over 5.000 tons and powered by 3 SD70Ace upfront and 1 SD70ACe on the rear end. This is a westbound climb from Cheyenne Yard to Laramie Yard, having no problem at all along the line, manage to maintain 35 mph during the 1.5% grade parts of the line. Problem come when i approached the Laramie Yard, just a little over 3 miles from my stopping point, a signal indicates a red aspect, so i requested to the dispatcher by pressing the tab key and the dispatcher let me pass it at restricted speed. When suddenly, an AI Train standing still in front of my train block the mainline wait for the signal changed to enter the yard. Thankfully i already reduce my speed just under 30 mph and the train is light enough so i can stop it just in time behind the AI train. Anyone here experienced the same thing as i describe above? I hope it will get fix by dtg, because it's super annoying to cannot complete a nice perfect well controlled run because an AI train block my line just few mile before my stopping point.
Definitely not a realistic solution, but you could have coupled to it and pushed it along, as long as it does not SPAD it should be fine. Did you do the run in one go or did you save, and resumed it?
Yes. I had the same problem. The save function is unusable since release. On some routes it works but on most it freezes ai or signals
Most likely yes... sadly AI trains misbehaving and the game being unable to cope is the most common fault of the save/resume function. It's sort of random, sometimes it works well, other times it messes up some trains but you are not affected by them and other times it can cause stuff like this.
I've also had instances where, following a save/resume, the banking comms had stopped working and needed an off/on to reset it. Sometimes it's obvious (if your train is on the ragged edge of being able to climb/brake), but not always.
I've just experienced the exact same scenario, on the exact same route in the exact same location. Stuck behind the long AI train that won't budge due to a red light that isn't changing. It's the first significant bug I've come across in the last couple of weeks - and one that I'm not sure I can overcome. That said, I'm going to try to see if I can hijack the AI train and move it off the track. Likely won't work, but it's worth a try! Edit: Hijacking the AI train results in the mission being forfeited. And contacting the signaler from the AI train simply results in a denial to proceed (w\o hijacking). So, I suppose there's no way forward. Just have to accept the bug and move on.
