It's in the steam description lol. If you scroll down to the bottom, it says left rhine route from mainz-koblenz
Just did the snowy scenario with the BR103 without the HUD, and I noticed many yellow speed-reduction signs are really low to the ground, I missed quite a few :’) Is it like this in real life? Never noticed this on other routes, but then I haven’t been driving HUD-less that long.
Doing a night scenario now, but without the HUD it’s really hard, as the signal lights seem very weak, so they don’t light up the speed signs until the moment you’re on top of them. Also, why is my train empty? The AI trains all have passengers, but mine doesn’t. Lots of people on the platforms, but no one is boarding
It is really ashame that DTG is not using the reflictive signs any more. They were a really good addition from Dresden Riesa at the time. I agree, driving without HUD at night is extremely difficult now...
Refunded yesterday rapidly after few runs, how is this kind of bugs still not solved? Did the hardest scenario with empty trian and zombie on perons (sic.) and that was it for me
Well I guess it aligns with the dumbness of placing coockoo clocks all around the train stations. To do what there?
Excuse me to jump straight in here. I saw a lot of those "black spots" still remaining in Mainz Hauptbahnhof. I took some screenshots (of a black wall mounted coocoo clock for example) if that helps I can add them later here. Also I tried the "Fixed Signal sequencing at Mainz station" and was quite astonished to have a red just before Mainz HBF but with an Zs1! Okay ... I'm not a driver but I highly doubt this is a normal using Befehl 40 all the time to enter the station ;-) I took screenshots of that aswell but have to do some work first ...
I can live with a Zs1 or Sh1 as an entry to a station, however, only if the advanced signal shows the appropriate Vr0 and not Vr1, which it did before the update. Do you know what it was indicating? I had a quick look last night and must admit, the route does feel much more "complete" after the update. I have the feeling a lot of stuff was added, like, for example, has the gras on patches of the main tracks between Bingen and Mainz been there before? I dont seem to remember them. Anyway, I do want to revisit some of the issues I have pointed out before and report back here...
I dont have this dlc allready but it was difficulity 3 scenario (BR110/103) and station (Mainz?) when you switch from broken BR110 to br103.
Difficult? Not really, but very enjoyable especially no HUD. What i like about german routes is, that you basicly dont need to "know" the route. As Hudless driver i do usually extensive Route appendix documentations for uk lines. Overall im happy with the update, both DTG and Rivet put a lot of effort into it.
You mean the speed reduction from 130 km/h to 100 km/h right in front of Boppard-Hirzenach? No, this isn’t fixed, the hud still shows next speed is 120 km/h and not 100 km/h.
Just had chance to check out the updated route, but these issues still unfortunately remain. No vorsignal at approx 1km before SBK16 and no white lights on many of the repeater signals. Disappointing.
Same. The cars force the level crossing at Trechtingshausen. In the "Cold Steel" scenario, OHLE not on the siding. I wonder if DTG sent the correct version? (I'm on Steam.)
I know it’s probably more of a core issue, but this route really could use some passengers. It was pretty jarring, after playing GWE which has a lot of passengers, to step out onto Mainz and hear the passenger sound loop… but then not actually see them anywhere.
Thanks for reporting on it, I'm certainly not going to buy it then. I am glad DTG is not selling cars, because they would insist that the missing steering wheel is not anything crucial for the function either.
Me, either, which is such a shame because the 103 on the LRS is the one loco on the one route I really, really, really wanted in TSW. But I'm not going to pay for it in broken, bugged, underdeveloped condition; and given that DTG has released one patch they are likely now to wash their hands of the route forever.
I wanted to report back to some of my highlighted topics: As others have pointed out, this is not fixed. Probably this is the biggest disapointment in the whole patch! And it bears the question, what does DTG accepts internal to be acceptable (DTG JD)? Several weeks have past and a topic of this scale is not fixed. We are talking about a missing advanced signal with the accossiated PZB magnets. My feedback would be that a route has to work without a HUD and in standard condition. This would probably be seen different by different people playing this game. However, I buy those DLCs to drive them without HUD. And if I risk a SPAD because of a bug / missing item, I would think this route is not drivable! JD, what does DTG think? Is this route drivable or not?! What drives your priorities when it comes to patching a route?! Yep, this was pointed out as well as not fixed. This is not a deal breaker, however, it still lowers the immersion. If you know what they are for and expect them, if needed, it simply takes soem of the realism away. Sticking to my above definition of drviable, it certainly is drivable. There are more such examples, falling into this category, which were all mentioned before, however, another one I would have really liked to be fixed is the missing Lf7 for the 110kph speed restriction at km 106,7, between Spay and Boppard (going south). Needless to say, its still missing. Again, not a deal breaker, but without the fix it just leaves the feeling the wrong priorities have been set for this patch... This situation was solved with the patch. You still enter with Sh1, however, the advanced signal showed a red on the main signal, which is now correct. Even better, I am happy to see that the main signal switches off one of it red lights when Sh1 is displayed. (I am driving with a mod, hence the modern IC stock in the background...) Appart from that, If it would not be for my first point, I would otherwise really enjoy this patch. I liked the route scenery before, but stuff like the deep snow, the added grass in the tracks make it even better. Just not drivable... yet... hopefully
There doesn't seem to be any of the TSW3 snow build up on this route either? Can anyone confirm why that is? I'm on PC (Steam) OpenMinded I use the modern day mod too - until (and if) the brakes on the 103 can be fixed. Saying that, some vorsignale are only just about 1km from the hauptsignals on the 160 stretch. I couldn't get from 160 down in time for the 500hz on the BR101 even in maximum brake and got zwanged! It didn't help much that the Vr0 was behind a tree.
Does somebody else see those totally weird rain textures on LRS?! (I´m on PS5 running 4k) :Headscratch:
Was contemplating this route for the summer sale and was about to ask if it’s now worth getting, but reading the foregoing seems not. I presume the lighting is still as bad as ever, too?
I can confirm that the snow build up has been added after the patch. And yes, getting down from 160 can be tricky. However, it is realistic this way. In real life you would see Vr0 from further away and it wouldn’t hide behind trees…
Thanks, folks. I've taken a look at the thread this morning and collated the feedback. Glad to see the update has improved things for a lot of players though.
Didn´t notice any difference (apart from those weird rain textures mentioned above). It can be awful under certain daylight conditions. I use to avoid early mornings / evenings with long shadows, and noon gives you the washed out coloring with an overexposed track horizon. This route is only bearable when driven with at least cloud overcast. Night lighting is nice at some stations and village passthroughs, but at some rural distances it is simply pitch black. Else? Part of the siding OHLE at Bingerbrück ist still missing, cars are still miraculously floating around, suicide drivers are still crossing at some, although less, level crossing points. The BR 103 continues with brake issues and the same sound like the BR 110 (either the 103 or the 110 have the wrong sound setup, I wouldn´t know but I can hardly believe both locos sounded exactly the same). And I´ve learnt that sunrise at this part of Germany in April is around 3:00 o´clock in the morning. That´s it in a nutshell.
Sadly this is still not playable without HUD. Advance speed sign (140 > 110) near Koblenz is still missing, but is is the smallest problem (because speed restriction is still there and you can remember it). I am still encountering signalling issues, like being diverted on junction where speed drops from 160 to 60 kph without any signalling etc. It is very sad, because the route itself is very nice and it has good gameplay, but this is ruining all the experience.
Cars (automobiles) drive in front of, into, and through the train. (DB 103, IC (721) Koln to Nurnberg - Mainfranken)
I agree this could be feasible, however in order to have a proper opinion on a route, more thatn 2 hours are needed. I'm not in a hurry, I'll follow this topic and see if further changes are made.
Even if the signaling and signage issues are fixed, I doubt anything will ever be done about the scenery. The best we can hope for is a genuine period freight engine in place of the 110 - one day.
There was just an update for the Linke Rheinstrecke route... "Update Notes - Mml, Linke Rhinestrecke And More! - 7th June" The only strange thing is that the catenary, which I mentioned earlier, has not yet been repaired.
Was contemplating getting this in the sale, warts and all, if there’s a reasonable discount. However a couple of questions from those who have experience with the route. Is the Class 103 a clone of the Class 110 in terms of sound and physics as I have seen postulated, or is that unfounded and it has its own distinct characteristics? Apart from AI on Niddertalbahn, does the 103 layer as driveable on any other German route?
I don’t think she’s just a clone. The physics are certainly completely different (as far as two not un-similar locos are different). They seem realistic from what I can tell based on a driver reporting in what tap he was at which speed. You also have the (in-)famous Hamburger Hammer (the more powerful transformer switch) if you want to use it. I can see why some people think the sounds are too close to the 110, but I think the similarities are exaggerated. The cooling fans do have distinct sounds for both locos. My only gripe with the 103 are the brakes since Maik ran out of time to set them up properly, but there are workarounds to get prototypical brake performance. And the weird model choices, I admit (70s body model with a early 2000s cab on a 90s route). Lovely loco, the 103. What bobbobberdd said. No idea if she’s supposed to sub in, but two ECS moves on BRO can currently be driven with the 103.
I think it is a good route, the scenery is lovely in my opinion and I love the way the road and railway run along side each other with sometimes the road disappearing or appearing on the other side. I also like the closeness of the settlements to the railway. The route has a distinctive feel. It feels quite different to some of the other German routes which have very similar landscapes. I certainly feel the physics of the 103 feel more powerful, as they should do, to the 110. They do sound quite similar I would say but I don't know how correct that is.
Feel free to take a listen. Spoiler: Sound Samples Note that the filmed 110 has a different tap changer than the one in-game.
I must say, after todays update to the braking of the BR 103, it feels much more pleasant to me. LFR is getting closer and closer to being the perfect route now, just a missing vorsignal, updated destination boards on IC coaches (so they have the correct start and end destination, aswell as train name), and some DLC for more accurate rolling stock variety to go. And perhaps some ship traffic on the Rhine of course.
I just got LFR in the sale, and must say it is absolutely enjoyable and very well done. The 103 is fantastic (though seat position could be just a few centimetres higher). Favourite route at the moment
Agreed. Didn’t have much time so I only ran an IR from Mainz to Bingen, but the braking appears prototypical now. Such an improvement. Now, if only the 110 got the same treatment…
Light rain wouldn´t flood the entire region anymore. It has been fixed as well. Very good! After real life stops hitting me, I´ll have a run with the fixed BR 103.
I have liked this addition to the scenery with the last patch. With this current update, those green patches have been removed again Why, I wonder? Performance, maybe? I have noticed that the performance has dropped with the last patch and has gone back up with this one.
