    Hello all,
So I've installed the PC Editor fine on the Steam Deck...well in the sense that it launches to 71% and then comes up saying it failed to find game location. :/

So I tried to follow the tutorial on here but I'm stuck on this part of it:

    • Open the settings for the editor in Heroic Games Launcher and note down the folder of its Wine prefix - make sure the folder path isn't too long or the editor will give an error
    • Go to /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2362300/pfx/ and copy the contents to the Wine prefix folder of the editor you noted earlier - you will have to do this every time TSW4 updates
    • Launch the editor
Specifically the 'Make sure the folder path isn't too long' part as the editor gives the error in that it failed to launch because it can't find the game location.

Any advice for this as it seems it'll work if it finds the location and I can confirm I've launched and played TSW4 fine so I can rule that out as part of the problem.

    Thanks,
    Daz

You may have to ensure you are using the same version of proton on heroic as on steam. Otherwise this is exactly how I've been doing it and it hasn't failed me yet :)

Have you copied the contents of /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2362300/pfx/ to the editor's Wine prefix?

I would recommend changing this to Proton Experimental, also in Steam. Otherwise you won't have this pfx/ folder which you need to copy around (I think).

You need to copy the contents of /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2362300/pfx/ to the folder listed under "WinePrefix".
No, the pfx folder is a standard part of Proton. You don't need Proton Experimental to have it.

Accidentally wrote my question in the quote box so apologies if anyone's confused.

You need to copy the contents of the /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2362300/pfx/ folder (so the "dosdevices" and "drive_c" folders and the .reg files) into the Editor's prefix folder.

Major update! Finally got it working successfully!
Ended up just dragging the folder needed into the Heroic folder and so far, it successfully launched.
Thanks again for and I appreciate your input.

    Hello again everybody,
So I've attempted to install the PC Editor for TSW5 on Linux however the 2362300 pfx folder is not showing up.
Attached are the pfx folders that do show up for me.
    Thanks

2362300 is the prefix folder for TSW4. For TSW5 you want the 2967990 prefix folder. Otherwise the process should be the same, though I haven’t tried to install the TSW5 editor yet and can’t confirm that.
