Lirr Budd M3 Atc Broken

    I have just gone back to play with the LIRR Budd M3 EMU Add-On but most of the scenarios and journey rides cannot be completed with gold with ATC turned on due to ATC going up to only 40 MPH (even on sections with speed limit 80 MPH without any trains on the same track). The train is always delayed, on a full route with stopping on almost all of the train stations I was 12 minutes late at the end due to this bug.
    Does anybody know whether there is a workaround or do I have to do all of them without ATC (which kills the whole experience)?

    The route as a whole needs a signaling overhaul. It's the main reason why it couldn't get a busier timetable.

    I just got started on this route too and noticed this discrepancy the between purported line speed and the ATC-indicated max speed during the M3 Introduction. I didn't suspect this would be a route-wide issue though.

    Nope, this is still an outstanding issue. I just ran the M3 with safety systems enabled, and I ran into the same issues noted above.

    I hope this is fixed soon.

    ATC enforces signal speed. ACSES enforces track speed. You can receive a cab signal indication that is more permissible than the track speed. If you do, the more restrictive speed governs. You can pass a signal displaying clear and receive an 80 code on the cab signal indicator at a location where the maximum authorized speed is 60 mph. That's because the signal aspect is clear, the most permissive aspect and therefore the cab signal indicator will display the most permissive code, except as noted in my next example. There are some locations however, where ATC and wayside signals will enforce track speed, in addition to ACSES. However, this is based on the actual signals. For example, when approaching Nostrand Ave going east on No. 2 track Atlantic branch, there are two automatic signals where the most permissive aspect you'll receive is an Approach Medium. That's because there's a permanent speed restriction of 30 mph on the curve entering the station. In that case, the signals enforce the speed limit by displaying an aspect (Approach Medium) that restricts the train to Medium Speed. Because the signal is displaying Approach Medium, the cab signal indicator will enforce a 30 code. If they were able to display a clear aspect, the lowest code you could receive on the cab signal indicator would be a 60. This is how the railroad used signals to enforce track speeds before the implementation of PTC and ACSES, and is how it works in reality.

    More info is needed. What location were you holding the 40 code between? What signal aspects were displayed by wayside interlocking and/or automatic signals?
