Good Morning Everyone, I currently have Train Sim World for PS4 and I was wondering if the LIRR Commuter is worth buying it. I understand about it having less services than the latest gen console but are there some amount of ai trains to make it a little bussier than the original version and are there some static trains at West Side, Jamaica, or Hillside Yards. I just want to hear from PS4 users to decide whether to get it now or wait till I get a PS5 in the future.
I'm on PS5, not PS4, so my experience isn't going to be directly comparable, but given no PS4 users have replied, I thought it might be better than nothing. I'm really enjoying the experience and different challenge. I mostly only play UK routes because I understand the trains and the safety systems. I've avoided things with a learning curve in the past because I don't have the time, but I'm going through a slack period at the moment, with lots of spare time on my hands (eldest is studying hard at home for her exams and doesn't need lifts and family trips are on pause etc). I've been thinking about an American route for a while and this popped along at just the right time, and I am really enjoying it even when I mess it up. There are plenty of posts which contain stats, but this is a long and diverse series of routes, with an entirely different signalling challenge. The signalling has been completely overhauled and while I didn't spend a huge amout of time on the old one (maybe one or two runs and about the time of release), it feels like a completely new experience. I don't think a smaller timetable would takeaway from the experience, and if I was still on PS4 I would jump at the challenge. I know this isn't specifically PS4 feedback, but hopefully it is better than nothing.
