What a joke. So DT, after months of waiting, finally decided to fix the sound issues on the LIRR. My excitement to see some attention finally paid to this route was quickly destroyed after playing it for approximately two minutes. All they did was take the motor sounds from the M7A on the Harlem Line and call it a day. It would be nice to see DT give this route the same amount of attention as they did for TS. That is how a route should be done. Shame on you Dovetail.
Lol!!That dlc was a horrendous job to begin with since tsw.......as usual LIRR been left for dead since then, for sounds, DEFINTELY lack of services for so called "busiest railroad" in America....but if thats what they did with with sounds then that's not fair.
This route needs more than just sound fixes. It looks visually dated tbh, needs updated sounds, functioning safety systems (like with Harlem), traffic on par with LBN, etc... But with that amount of work, the best we can probably hope for is that they sell us a whole new LIRR route... Babylon to Penn or something- I think those even go to Brooklyn as well. Maybe moynihan train hall can make an appearance as well (it's stunning)
The sounds on the m7 are still not fully fixed either on xbox at least. It still cuts out in the last 4, 6, and 8 coaches. Honestly this route needs a complete overhaul in terms of scenery, safety systems and the timetable. It is embarrassing that the TS classic version looks much better than the tsw version
Can you at least complete the tutorial now? I watched a stream where someone tried desperately to put the throttle in idle as instructed but was locked out from doing so. It is becoming more clear they have less people (interested in) testing their older American content before release.
I also think LIRR can be made much better (on the visual side). Especially the very sparsely implemented Manhattan skyline needs an upgrade. A while ago I did a comparison with the latest TS classic version, which came out this year. Fits well into this thread again. To be fair the current LIRR version isn't bad and thanks to the preservation updates, it's also a bit better and more detailed as before. But the real NYC feeling just doesn't come across compared to the Harlem Line. The totally empty looking huge Sunnyside Yard or Penn Station also convey a feeling of emptiness. You could bring more life into it with a few Amtrak trains, as was the case with the former NEC. In the end there is always a trade-off between effort and benefit, but with LIRR you can simply get even more out of it...
