"Barge" that's the ship from the route Bremen-Oldenburg, I don't even know why this is a rail vehicle when you don't have the cars and all the other vehicles as rail vehicles too? It is also spawnable and they call it ship why DTG
Because it’s fun? Can’t remember exactly what was said on the launch stream, but it was something to do with being able to schedule it and have it run on a path. It’s effectively just another train.
I meant so DTG could do it. Not anything we can do. I can’t be bothered to go and find the video they talked about it, but it was either the preview or launch stream. I believe they wanted the barge to move rather than being static so they just made it an AI only train running on an invisible track and added it to the livery designer just for a bit of fun.
In the preview stream they told that it's logic has been written like that of an AI train. It follows a 'track' in the water & the purpose was to have you paint it in the livery designer !
Couldn´t agree more! After the patches, MKZ is becoming a decent route. The missing river textures around the Loreley have been placed (floating still into the wrong direction, but who cares), cars are not hovering anymore, suicide drivers on level crossings have been (almost) completely banned and the soaking terrain in light rain was fixed as well. But the complete absence of ship and boat traffic on what must be Germany´s most busy river, is quite immersion breaking. Funny enough, there IS such traffic simulated on the river Elbe around Dresden and on BRO Oldenburg. Well, sort of a glimpse at least ... but it is a know-how. I understand the concerns for performance, but at least some low-res static ships could´ve made it to the river to simulate heavy traffic.
