And if we got modern Liverpool Lime Street they probably wouldn't go to Crewe as that line already exists in tsw

 

I can see a modern extension from Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street one day.
But only once we've had a two year embargo on WCML content so other parts of the UK network can be levelled-up. If the WCML isn't of particular interest, and south of Lancashire it's a pretty tedious drive, then it's been thin pickings over the last 2 years.
