I know the HST livery designer is almost upon us and I can't wait. I was wondering though if any updates will allow created carriages to be inserted into the trains or will it be the default EMR/GWR colours? It has frustrated me a little that there are major wonderful liveries created for carriages by players but the only way you can access them is through scenario editor.

This would actually frustrate me no end. I want the carriages to look as they do IRL rather than have randomly inserted CC designs shoved in anywhere the game likes

Are you asking if random carriages in the consist will be able to use separate livery to the powercars?

If so, I agree with ARuscoe, what an eyesore that would be.

From the October roadmap article: "The train will appear in the livery designer as '2+4', 2+7' and '2+8' formations as well as the Class 43 locomotive on its own. Finally, as part of enabling the ability to implement custom liveries on this train, we will be removing the long defunct 'blue' HST from TSW2 and TSW3."

From this I would understand that it won't be like the NTP loco hauled sets, where all you can do is select the loco you drive and its livery, it will be more like the ICE and you will select the livery for the entire train set (or of course if you just have a livery that is for the loco it will only change that from the default).

This is the way I'd have preferred them to do it in any case, as I have no patience for keeping track of the liveries for individual coaches and the different naming used in the CC for each different user.

Sorry I should clarify. This is for an example.

I download a Virgin Cross Country liveried powercar and virgin liveried carriages. Will I be able to choose those carriages when I start a timetable service or will the game just give me the standard GWR or EMT livery.

I would assume that any reskin is a reskin of the whole consist (43’s + Mk3’s), the same as ICE, TGV & 395 sets.

The mark three carriages aren't attached to the same train day in and day out like those others mentioned. Power cars were routinely swapped

    IRL, but not in TSW.

as you can’t select individual parts of a train when selecting which one to use, it will be the whole livery that is part of the one u have chosen. As with any other loco that is more than one like a javelin but not a class 08, 47+45’s etc are a bit of an exception to the rule as you can’t customise the wagons when in livery mode (possibly due to running freight services with them)

it would look terrible to have every carriage taking something different rather than the livery’s your happy to use

When it comes to when the power cars are separated, if you can select a formation like that it will probably allow you to use any 43 livery you have just you obviously wouldn’t see the carriages like wise for smaller formations, same livery minus the carriages you don’t have connected.

As for Ai, it will depend on how DTG set them up for use of Personal Liveries
